EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 2019-29

AN ORDER CREATING AN AD HOC COMMITTEE FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT AND

OPERATION OF DON MARIANO MARCOS MEMORIAL STATE UNIVERSITY
(DMMMSU) EXTENSION IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF NAGUILIAN, LA UNION

WHEREAS, the Municipality of Naguilian, La Union seeks to establish a DMMMSU-

East La Union Campus pursuant to its 5-year development plan;

WHEREAS, the former Mayor and now the Municipal Vice-Mayor, Hon. Reynaldo J.
Flores and former DMMMSU University President, Atty. Benjamin P. Sapitula have entered
into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) dated July 13, 2013 for the establishment of
DMMMSU- East La Union Campus at the Balikbayan Function Hall, Naguilian, La Union;

WHEREAS, former DMMMSU University President Atty. Sapitula, in his statement

that the local government officials of Naguilian, based on the facts at hand, have already
prepared three to five years now to start a campus but he stressed that for the mean time,
it will be called DMMMSU- Naguilian Extension and eventually it might become a campus
of it that will grow bigger just like in the South La Union Campus in Agoo, Mid La Union
Campus in San Fernando City and North La Union Campus in Bacnotan;

WHEREAS, there is an imperative need to conduct further studies about the

relevant courses to be started in the extension specifically the conduct of feasibility study
particularly to all high schools that are existing in Naguilian and other municipalities close
to Naguilian;

NOW THEREFORE, I, NIERI T. FLORES, Municipal Mayor of the municipality of

Naguilian, La Union by virtue of the powers vested upon me by law do hereby order the
creation of an Ad Hoc Committee for the Establishment and Operation of DMMMSU-
Naguilian Extension:

SECTION 1. The Ad Hoc Committee for the Establishment and Operation of

DMMMSU- Naguilian Extension shall be composed of the following:

SECTION 2. Functions and Duties of the Ad Hoc Committee for the Establishment
and Operation of DMMMSU- Naguilian Extension.

Specifically, it shall perform the following functions:

1. Formulate policy recommendations and plans of the LGU on the establishment

and operation of DMMMSU- Naguilian Extension until its transition to be DMMMSU- East
La Union Campus.
2. Establish the policies and directions for the implementation of the Ad Hoc at the
local level.
3. In charge of information dissemination of this order through various media
platforms

4. Spearhead the conduct of feasibility study as to the sustainability of DMMMSU-

Naguilian Extension pioneering with the following courses:
1. Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science
2. Bachelor of Science in Agriculture
3. Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness Management
4. Bachelor of Science in Agroforestry
5. Bachelor of Science in Information System
6. Others specific academic offerings
5. Submit results of the feasibility study to the offices of the Sangguniang Bayan
Members, Vice- Mayor, Mayor and to the DMMMSU President, for their appropriate action.

SECTION 3. EFFECTIVITY. This Order shall take effect immediately.
