EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:

The study determines the intrapersonal, interpersonal, academic and

environmental sources of stress among College of Science (COS) freshmen

student of University of Rizal System, Morong, Rizal Campus.

The researchers used the descriptive quantitative research design

specifically the survey method. There were 30 COS freshman students from BS

Psychology and BS Math program. Frequency, percentage, rank

distribution, weighted mean and one way analysis of variance (ANOVA) were

used in the study.

vi
The study revealed that the respondents seldom experience intrapersonal,

interpersonal and academic sources of stress and sometimes experience the

environmental source of stress. Moreover, the study also revealed that there is

no significance difference in the extent of intrapersonal, interpersonal, academic

and environmental stress in terms of their sex, monthly family income,

educational attainment of parents and birth order.

The researchers recommend that intervention program for freshmen

college students be done by the Office of the Student Development Services

(OSDS) that would eliminate or avoid the different sources of stress. Cognitive

Behavioral Therapy can also be done by Psychologists in the University to help

these students change their perception of stress and avoid depression.
