Framework for Group Project

 Prepare the project report which should not exceed 10 pages including 1-page Executive Summary
(annexures can be extra). Students should use Times New Roman font size 11 with 1.5 spacing and 2.5 cm
margins all around.
 Following is the suggested module-wise structure of the project (which can be changed by groups). The
final report has to be submitted through Moodle in MS word format along with a hard copy.

 Compare the performance of the company for last 3 years with industry average (compute ROCE –
return on capital employed): does it have competitive advantage (compare with industry average)?

 Do you think co. has any strategic dilemma/issue/problem/challenge?

The company profiles


 Brief profile (product lines, brands, market segments, listing, CEO, short history and evolution of
strategy, any other)

Module 2: Industry and competitive Analysis


 PEST Analysis & Porters 5-Forces Model
 Macro-level relevant recent changes in industry
 Value chain of industry: where is your co. –present across the complete value chain?
 Key success factors in Industry
 Is industry Attractive? Apply Porter’s model
 How is industry segmented?
 Analysing competitors: brief about close Competitors – their strengths/weakness
 Prepare Strategic group(s)
 Is industry globalised? Implications?
 Any other important issue(s)

Module 3: Analysing resources and Capabilities for Competitive advantage
