I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the session, the students are expected to;

b. find the mean using set of data of the Lumad Tribes.
c. appreciate Lumad culture.
II. CONTENT
a. Subject matter: “Measure of Central Tendency” (mean in ungrouped data.)
b. Reference : Mathematics & Learners Module, pp. 491- 508.
c. Materials : Books, visual aids, cartolina strips.
d. Value focus : Computing and Analyzing the given data set of Lumad
Cultures in Mindanao.

student for the second one and so on… then the teacher will
provide some examples.
MEASURES OF CENTRAL TENDENCY
When working with numerical data, it is often helpful to
use one or more numbers to represent the whole set. These
numbers are called the measure of central tendency. This includes
the mean, median and mode.
Mean – sum of the data divided by the number of items/populations in
the set of data.
Using same data above which are the 18 major Lumad Ethno
linguistic groups in Mindanao with their estimated number of
populations we will be going to find their mean?
In getting the mean, this is the formula

The math grades of thirteen Bagobo students are the following;

Find the mean.
Instructions:
Work by pair, and then write your answer in your notebook. Do
this in 15 minutes.

From our previous example, the math grades of thirteen Bagobo
students, describe the data in terms of their mean.
As a summary, anybody can describe the data and how the measure of
central tendency being used as an important tool in analyzing a data.

Achievement Test (DAT). Evaluate and analyze the given data then answer the
