Follow pages found in map guide

>CLC Storage drive > manila fun > guide > map (2 pages)

The pdf folder in each issue is divided into signature (signature 1-10), book paper (book paper 1-4), and
c2s (c2s-1 and c2s-2) subfolders.

Take note of which pages have no changes. You will send this list to the printing shop so they can check
which plates can be reused.

Other notes:

We issue three times a month. Usually 1st, 2nd and 4th week, though there are cases when we only issue
twice.

All ads and past issues are in drive F:/

Always make a new folder for each new issue

Each magazine issue folder is divided into 3 subfolders

>ind – contains the indesign file

>img – contains images used in the magazine (cover page, sales & events, charity & expo, enjoy
movie a, enjoy movie b)

>pdf – contains the pdf sent off to the printing shop

Save in TIFF. Keep layers

When doing a design for a black & white ad, first make it in full color and then convert to b&w after.
Keep the colored file.

Always label new/revised ads by issue.

UKCA ad is done every Wednesday without fail. Even if there is no issue that week.

All articles are found in Naver. Go to Naver News for news articles and Naver magazine (bookmarked –
see bookmark bar) for feature articles. There are more feature articles than news articles in the
magazine.

Google Translate and Naver Translate is your friend.

YDIYGO is like Arial to Koreans.

Schedule is always hectic in Manila Fun.

When getting approval for an ad, make sure the exported jpg file is less than 1MB and then send it to
the company email (Hotmail). Use TinyPNG (website – it’s bookmarked so just click that) if the picture is
still more than 1MB even when using the lowest quality for export.

If you get contents for a Filipino-company ad, send the contents in the company email. Sir will translate
it into Korean.

All the needed login details for company accounts are in the sticky notes. If something isn’t on there, it’s
probably noted on the other pc.

Deadline of the magazine is on Wednesday. It comes out on Saturdays & Sundays, wherein they will be
delivered to companies and clients.

Uploading to Srook is on Thursday.

Always answer the phone with “Manila fun.”

On that note, always make sure the volume of the phone is maxed each morning. Dial 100 and then go
to the HR telephone (white telephone with a butterfly sticker, named TINA) to press the UP button.

You will likely switch on the breaker in the mornings and switch it off once the work day ends. It’s easier
to switch it off and harder to switch it on.

If the aircon isn’t switching on, check the breaker for it. If you don’t know which is the breaker for the
aircon, ask maintenance.

LBC and Bayad Center is in Greenhills Shopesville. If you don’t know where they are, check the
Greenhills mall map. You might be asked to pay for bills or send sample magazines to companies/clients.

When the leftover latest magazine copies are brought to the office on Monday, check the print quality.
Take pictures of errors/bad printing/defects and then send it to the printing ship through Skype.

Always report to Sir.

You are expected to do more than just ordered. Be an over-achiever.

There are times when you will go home late on Wednesdays to meet the deadline. There are times
when you will go home super late. That’s life.

The 7-11 near Medecor is your friend.

Always bring gov’t issued IDs in case you’re ordered to encash a check.

The list of local #s is also found in the sticky notes but in case you miss them, here they are:

0 – HR (the white telephone with a butterfly sticker named TINA)

105 – Sir Ian

107 – Graphic Artist A desk

108 – Graphic Artist B desk (this pc)

104 – Kuya Jet (driver)

111 – Marketing desk
