HE summer is almost over. The school sessions start-
ed last Sunday. Classrooms are full of students and
stationery. The libraries are already advertising for all
that the students may need for the upcoming academic
year. Some are looking forward, others are nervous.
However, everyone prepared well for the reopening of the
schools. In fact, students are not the only ones who were
waiting with bated breath for this day. Parents want to pro-
vide their children with all the essentials, including station-
ery, as the aim is to keep everything in order.
On a visit to a local stationery in Abu Hamour area in
Doha, employees confirmed huge turnouts at it’s a time of

schools. All tools and supplies are provided to students.

live International School was bustling with excitement
as it reopened on 25 August 2019 after the summer
break. The students were accorded a warm and hearty
welcome by the school staff, including from the Administrative
Department and the entire team, with great enthusiasm.
The staff welcomed the students back to the school and
urged them to continue with the Olive School legacy and keep
the banner of the school flying high. The assembly began with
the School Choir enlivening the whole atmosphere with their
mellifluous song. Following this, a superlative and scintillating
dance was performed by students dressed in colorful attire.
The assembly continued with joyous and melodious perfor-
mance by students and a beautiful poem was recited by the
teachers. The assembly hall reverberated with thunderous
applause from the audience.
The assembly concluded with the Principal of the
School,Mr. Jacob KM delivering an inspiring speech of wisdom
and experience. He laid emphasis on the need to motivate
children to think independently and follow their dreams with
hard work and diligence. He reiterated the importance of
the students doing their best in all that they undertake and
advised them to exercise their freedom in the school. He said
he believes that “freedom is the unlimited power to do good”.
He added that no one could stop the students from doing
good. He also stressed the need for a ‘Happy School’. He said
the students were welcome to approach him at any time if they
were unhappy. He wished them the best of luck for the aca-
demic year and urged them to stay happy and smiling.

Attiyah close to creating history in Rally Lebanon FIVB LEVEL 1 COACHES COURSE STARTS IN DOHA
Qatar’s triple Dakar Rally winner Nasser bin Saleh al Attiyah moved ever close to winning the elusive Rally of Lebanon, the
third round of the Middle East Rally Championship, on Saturday. After the full competitive second day, in which six special
stages were run, thrice runner-up Attiyah and his French co-pilot Matthieu Baumel grabbed a healthy five minutes and 39.1
seconds overall lead over a host of local drivers. Attiyah, who had lost the lone stage to 14-time winners Roger Feghali from
Lebanon on Friday, was dominant and won all the six stages today in Volkswagen Polo GTi. Feghali felt the pressure from Atti-
yah and crashed out of the rally in the return leg of Hboub, the SS5 over 21.30 kms. With only one day and four more stages The FIVB Level 1 Coaches Course began in Doha under the joint auspices of the FIVB and Qatar Volleyball Association on
left, there can’t be a better chance for Attiyah, who has to just go through the remaining distance without any risk and wrap Saturday. International lecturer Shihab Riyami is conducting the course, attended by Qatari coaches and national team play-
up his dream title. Following Attiyah are five Lebanese drivers, led by Rodgrigue Rahi in Mitsubishi Evo9. Patrick Njeim, also ers. Also present on the occasion were QVA Assistant Secretary-General Saeed Salem Bukheit and QVA Technical Director
in Mitsubishi Evo9, is holding the third spot, being six minutes and 32.6 seconds adrift of the leader. Hussein Imam Ali.
