Reflection Paper #1
I will be straightforward: I only enlisted the camping as a final and desperate act to earn
units.. Coming from a Taekwondo class last year, I had promised myself to as much as possible,
never shed a sweat in my upcoming PE classes. When I saw that I got accepted in Camping, I
hesitated but still dared taking the challenge, thinking that this will guarantee me my third PE
already.
Prior to the actual camp-out, the class ran very smoothly. The lectures were a great

not to be shocked on the strenuous activities in the camp-out proper. He also taught us the
basic requirements and tools that must be brought by every camper. The benefits and hazards
Then came the actual camp-outs and I immediately realized the application of all the
lectures in all of our activities. Not only did it exhausted my entire body, but also required me
to apply my meagre skills in cooking. I also met the greatest strangers to be friends with. But
there was one part that truly left a mark among us: mountain climbing.
It was my first time doing such an arduous activity and I got so burnt out. But in spite of
it all, it truly brought us closer to nature. I remember looking at trees towering over us and
thinking how small we are in such enclosure. How stupid we are to be arrogant, in a world
wherein nature asserts dominion. It was unexpectedly an enjoyable break from all the noise
and blur in the city, keeping us preoccupied from the beauty of the world.
