INTRODUCTION
Waste management or Waste disposal is all the activities and actions required to manage
waste from its inception to its final disposal. This includes amongst other things, collection,
transport, treatment and disposal of waste together with monitoring and regulation. It also
encompasses the legal and regulatory framework that relates to waste management
encompassing guidance on recycling etc.
Waste management is the process of treating solid wastes and offers variety of solutions
for recycling items that don’t belong to trash. It is about how garbage can be used as a valuable
resource. Waste management is something that each and every household and business owner in
the world needs. Waste management disposes of the products and substances that you have use
in a safe and efficient manner.
Waste Disposal is the handling of discarded materials. Recycling and composting which
transform waste into useful products are forms of waste management. The management of waste
also includes disposal, such as land filling. Waste can be almost anything including food, leaves,
newspapers, bottles, construction debris, chemicals from a factory, candy wrappers, disposable
diapers, old cars, or radioactive materials. People have always produced waste but as industry
and technology have evolved and the human population has grown, waste management has
become increasingly complex.

PURPOSE
The researchers advocate “Proper Waste Disposal” because they want to aware other
people especially the students. And in order for them to know how to minimize the production of
waste, to protect health, well being and the environment, to prevent pollution, to reduce and
reuse of waste, and to dispose waste safely.
The purpose of this project is to help improve poor practices of Solid Waste Management
or SWM that prevail in many low income communities where this subject received scant
attention compared to other aspects of infrastructure such as water supply and transport. It is a
multi-disciplinary field embracing waste collection, transfer, haulage and disposal and its impact
is wide. It is therefore important to take a broad view and not to consider disposal options within
the narrow confines of a particular technology. This work is formulated from the available
literature and gives particular emphasis to the principle of building on existing capacity of waste
managing authorities.
METHODS

• Preventing or reducing waste generation

• Recycling and reusing
• Incineration
• Composting

VISION
To be minimizing the production of waste by reducing, reusing and disposing of waste safely in
order to protect ones health and prevent environmental pollution.

MISSION
To be able to develop, implement and maintain a sustainable waste reduction, recycling and
reusing of waste material.
