Greetings!

Our record reveals that all our School’s in this district has not yet conducted a fire drill
this calendar year 2019.

In this connection, please be informed that under Chapter 2, Section 10. 2.18.3 Republic
Act 9514 (Fire Code of the Philippines), fire drills are required for all Educational occupancies at
least four (4) times a year to prevent our beloved student and teachers from going panic in
times of emergencies and to permit prompt and safe escape of occupants from buildings, or
structures or facilities in case of fire or other conditions dangerous to life and property.

In support of this, DepEd Sec. Bro. ARMIN A LUISTRO, FSC Issued DepED Order
No.72 on August 31, 2012, re: Continuing Fire Safety and Awareness Program (FSAP) in
Schools.

In an effort to help safeguard our Educational institution better and all occupants thereof,
we would like to ask for your assistance through the dissemination of this RA 9514 and DepED
Order No. 72 requirement, as well as the inclusion of at least one (1) Fire Drill Certificate in the
documentary requirements that will be submitted by all Schools to your Office Annually.

School Heads may submit their individual letter request for the conduct of the said
activity specifying their preferred date which is still subject to adjustment/rescheduling due to
bulk number of requests from other agencies, organizations, offices and businesses. However it
would be of our advantage if you could submit to us the list of the different schools with the
corresponding preferred date of fire drill.
