Chapter III

SUMMARY OF FINDINGS, CONCLUIONS AND


RECOMMENDATIONS

This chapter presents the summary of the findings,

conclusions and recommendations of the study.

Summary of Findings

Majority of the respondents belonged to age group of 19 – 40

years old with the majority being females. Most of them are single

in terms of marital status. Most of the respondents are assigned to

ward and special area. Looking into the respondents’ highest

educational attainment, majority of them finished a Bachelor’s

degree in Nursing with most of them having 1-10 years of clinical

experience.

The study showed an overall very high level of compliance

among staff nurses to the Philhealth Benchbook in terms of

Patients right and organizational ethics, patients care and safe

practice and environment.

The variables were correlated and it revealed that there is no

significant relationship between profile of respondents and their

level of compliance to PHILHEALTH Benchbook.

The respondents identify factors that facilitate their

compliance to wit: Training and Development, Leadership,

Feedback and Performance Evaluation and Remuneration and

Incentives. Based on the interview conducted, the inhibiting factors

are Lack of Resources, Understaffing and Attitudes.

Conclusion

There is no significant relationship between the Profile and

level of Compliance of staff nurses on the Implementation

Philhealth Benchbook.

Recommendations

Based on the conclusion of the study, the following are

recommended:

1. The proposed intervention plan for the compliance of staff

nurses shall be implemented every six months.

2. A compliance officer and compliance committee should be

created to check and evaluate the staff compliance to the

Philhealth Benchbook.

3. Conducting effective training and education to staff nurses

to facilitate improvement and compliance.

4. Conducting evaluation and monitoring of staff nurse’s

compliance after information dissemination.

5. Developing effective line of communication among leaders

and staff to promote compliance.

6. Providing feedback and post evaluation interview after

performance evaluation to promptly respond to detected

offenses and developed corrective action.

7. Hospital administration should conduct monthly

consultation meetings and create a quality improvement

strategy for the compliance of Philhealth Benchbook.

8. Future studies with wide scope should be done with more

respondents in a larger time frame in relation to Philhealth

Benchbook and possible title for future study are

recommended:

a. Implementation of Philhealth Benchbook among

Selected Hospital.

b. Effectiveness of Philhealth Benchbook in Quality

Improvement.
