About the Author
Living life to the fullest and achieving dreams has always been her number one goal in
life. When she was young, she dreamed of becoming many things. Sometimes, She wished
she was a superhero saving people from danger, she imagined being a doctor, giving the right
medicine to help people in healing their wounds. She loved being able to play the role of
somebody , even just for a short time, to try to realize what it might be like to walk in their
shoes.
Last February 03 , 2000, her mother gave birth of a baby girl. And that baby girl was
Vina Maree Labastida. Vina is the youngest among the two children of Mr. Jovelito Labastida,
her father and Mrs. Helen Labastida , her mother. She had her kindergarten in Sinonoc
Learning Center. She took her Elementary at Sinonoc Elementary School in Purok Sta. Cruz,
Sinonoc, Sinacaban, Misamis.Occidental and graduated in the year 2012. She was a
consistent honor student in her Elementary but when she became a high school student of
Sinonoc National High School in Purok Sta. Cruz, Sinonoc, Sinacaban, Misamis.Occidental,
she was not able to be one of honor students but at least she graduated and got her diploma in
the year 2016. Then she enrolled in Aloran Trade High School to pursue her Senior High
School , she took Accountancy Business and Management or ABM strand, and in the year
2018 she graduated as honor student. That years of studying in ATHS , she started to do the
thing called " everyday biyahe" until now when she is in her college life. She is now a second
year student , taking up the course of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Major in
Financial Management or BSBA at Misamis University, Ozamiz City. She is pursuing her
dreams with all the things that her family gave and the will to fulfill the chosen path that drive
here to stand for it because it is for the future and the future of her family.

She have seen many great things and met many amazing people, but her imagination
is still strong and always will be. The fun and variety of her imagination are something she try
to bring into every part of her life, and she enjoy sharing with and hearing about other people's
stories too. She will do her best to reach her dreams , because dreams are very important. It
motivate, inspire, improve and help us in achieving any goal that we want to achieve. Without
dreams, we will be nowhere.

Basic Microeconomics

Basic Microeconomics is the study of individuals, households and firms'

behavior in decision making and allocation of resources. It generally applies to
markets of goods and services and deals with individual and economic issues. It study
the deals with what choices people make, what factors influence their choices and
how their decisions affect the goods markets by affecting the price, the supply and
demand. It explains about the process of determination of individual price with
interaction of demand and supply. It helps to determine the price of the product.
Microeconomics is a branch of economics that studies the behavior of individuals and
businesses and how decisions are made based on the allocation of limited resources.
Simply put, it is the study of how we make decisions because we know we don't have
all the money and time in the world to purchase and do everything.

Microeconomics examines how these decisions and behaviors affect the

supply and demand for goods and services, which determine the prices we pay.
These prices, in turn, determine the quantity of goods supplied by businesses and the
quantity of goods demanded by consumers. Microeconomics explores issues such as
how families reach decisions about what to buy and how much to save. It also affects
how firms, such as Nike, determine how many shoes to make and at what price to sell,
as well as how competitive different industries are and how that affects consumers.

In Basic Microeconomics, I learned the value of relationships among people,

institutions, society and environment by showing me the different aspects of microeconomics
such as Demand and Supply. It taught me about the relationship of demand and supply with
other people when the people consume goods that we pay for, what determines the price that
we pay for is the demand and supply. When the people have a higher demand on goods but
there is only a limited supply of that good, the price goes up.

As a student , I currently could be involved with Demand and Supply because I am a

person who has demand for goods due to me being a consumer of these goods and this
aspect of microeconomics help me realize my relationship with people who consume goods
just like what I do. What I did not know before I started studying economics this year is that I
actually have a bigger role in the economy that I expected and that I should be more aware of
what I do because it could affect me greatly and affect others greatly as well.

Personal Finance Management has become the most talked about subjects in the
world. So many times you hear working adults say, " I don't earn enough to save", " I just got a
job". These are all just excuses and everyone could come up with a thousand reasons why
they could not and would never to able to put some money aside for savings or investments.
We know from basic economics that human needs are insatiable, no matter how much you
have, you will still not be satisfied. It is wrong to assume that when you begin to climb higher in
your career and you earn much more, that is the time to start saving up. Unfortunately, your
needs and wants will grow bigger as your income grows.

About the Instructor

Teachers or Instructors are special blessings from God to us. They are the ones who
build a good nation and make the world a better place. They have a great impact on society
and their student's life. They well-prepared in advance for their education goals. They prepare
their plan of action everyday to ensure maximum productivity. They have a lot of knowledge
about everything , especially in the subject they specialize in.

When we become older and enter college, instructors become our friends, even
become our role models and inspire us to do great things in life. I am a student of Misamis
University, Ozamis City. One of our instructors is Miss Rialene Ann Alcontin. She is currently
teaching us two subjects which are the "Basic Microeconomics" and "Personal Finance". Her
way of teaching is very good. She behave in a friendly manners. She taught us everything , not
just about in our school lessons but of course moral lessons in life.

Miss Alcontin deserves to receive " thank you" from us as her students because she
really did her job well and she did her best. And for being motivated, even when we have
shown little or no interest in lectures by sleeping, texting or talking during her class. But she is
not just a instructor, she is a good mother , but not just an ordinary mother but a fighter. Such
teacher will always strive to work with full dedication to ensure their task is perfectly complete
and have a true compassion of their students.
