Present Tense
Present Tense is the most basic English Tense, that is it common to say this as Simple Present. This
English Tense is used to express: Facts and generalization, Habits and Routine activities, Permanent
Situations, State Verbs (such as be, see, know, think, have, etc). Present Tense is usually used with
the adverbs of frequency such as: always, usually, never, selom or rarely, nowadays, every day, every
month, sometimes, occasionally, etc.

Ok, let’s see Present Tense expressing the facts:

- I am a blooger
- A dog is an animal
- The morning sun is usually warm in sunny season

The form of Simple Present Tense if it is used without verb is simple, that is:
Subject + Tobe … (am, is, are)

Tobe in Present Tense with it respective Subject:

I am, You are, We are, She is, He is, It is.

In Negative form, You just add NOT after tobe

- I am NOT a blooger
- A table is NOT an animal
- She is NOT happy

If Present Tense used with Verbs, it has the following form:

Positive Form: S + Verb1 (s/es)

Negative Form: S + DO/DOES + NOT + Verb1
Interrogative: DO/DOES + S + Verb1

Let’s see several examples:

- I write article for my blog everyday
- My son goes to school
- You learn english

Present Tense in Negative Form examples:

- I do not write article for my blog everyday
- My son does not go to school
- You do not learn english.
It is also commont to use don’t for do not, and doesn’t for does not.
Present Continuous Tense
The English Present Continuous Tense or Present Progressive Tense indicates continuing action,
something going on now. This English Tense always has “tobe” + Verb + ING . For example: “You are
reading my Tenses English dotcom Blog”. Whenever You need to use Continuous Tense in english,
remember ING-form of the verbs, and remember TOBE respectively too. Because we are talking
about the PRESENT, we use present form of tobe: is, am, are. If you want to express the action that
happens past time then English Past Continuous Tense with was, were as tobe.

This is the formula of English Present Continuous Tense

Positive Form: S + am/is/are + Verb + ing

Negative Form: S + am/is/are + NOT+ Verb + ing

Interrogative: Am/is/are + S + Verb + ing

Some examples of English Present Continuous Tense:

-You are reading my EnglishTenses.com blog
-I am writing now
-She is waiting for you

The Negative Form of Present Continuous Tense example:

-You are not reading my EnglishTenses.com blog
-I am not writing now
-She is not waiting for you

To make a question or interrogative form of this english tense, just put tobe in front of the sentence,
like this:
-Are You reading my EnglishTenses.com blog?
-Are You writing now?
-Is She waiting for you
Present Perfect Tense
English Present Perfect Tense is formed with a present tense form of “to have” plus the past
participle of the verb (which can be either regular or irregular in form). This english tense indicates
either that an action was completed (finished or “perfected”) at some point in the past or that the
action extends to the present. In other words, The Present Perfect is used to express actions that
happened at an indefinite time or that began in the past and continue in the present. This English
Tense is also used when an activity has an effect on the present moment.

Present Perfect Tense Form:

Positive Form: S + have/has + Verb3

Negative Form: S + have/has Not + Verb3

Interrogative: Have/has + S + Verb3

Verb3, I mean past particile form of the Verb. I can be regular Verb or irregular form of the Verb. I
am sure you are familiar with these:

Irregulare Verb: Go – Went – Gone (Verb3)

Regular Verb: Study – Studied – Studied (Verb3)
Irregular Verb again: Make – Made – Made (Verb3)

Later, at next pages of English Tense Lesson I will mostly write Verb3, and I mean that is Past
Participle form of the Verb, okay?

Example of Present Perfect Tense of English:

-I have written a letter
-You have taken my pen
-He has drunk milk
-They have eaten fried rice

Usually the words like the following is used with Present Perfect Tense: just, ever, never, already,
recently, yet, etc.

For example:
-I have just broken the glass
-He has just closed the door
-Have you ever seen the ghost?

The Negative form of Present Perfect Tense is also very easy. You just need to place “NOT” after the
has or have. Yes, the same way as you do for Present Continuous Tense. Question form of Present
Perfect Tense is made by starting the sentence with Has or Have.
Present Perfect Continuous Tense
Tenses which one is used to declare an event, incident or whatever his name, which is ALREADY
happening and STILL going on even very likely WILL continue. From the first until now and even later,
gitu loh!. The word "already" or "the first" here may be yesterday's time, two hours ago, a century
ago, could also be a few minutes ago. The point to events that are disclosed in the Present
Continuous Tense Pefect is actually similar to the Present Continuous Tense, it's just not the
emphasis at this time, but at this time period were: already, still and will.

Present Perfect Continuous Tense Form :

Positive: S + have / has + been + Ving
Negative: S + have / has + not + been + Ving
Question: Have / has + S + been + Ving

Let's try with an example, the shape of the Present Tensenya this way: "I live here", in English: "I live
here". We tried to enter into the Present Perfect Continuous Tense yes. Ready?

Ok, for example this: "I've lived here two years." Already here anyway? still anyway? tomorrow has
not moved you? For this condition we use the Present Perfect Continuous Tense is, I have been living
here for two years.

But if the time you say that you did not live here anymore, for example, recently moved then
afterwards use just such an emphasis on the Present Perfect Tense in the subject, I have lived
here ...

But again,
If you want to say "stay here" is used, for example two years ago to live here, I mean you do not
emphasize on end you live it but focus on two years ago, then just use the Past Tense: I lived here 2
years ago .

Here are examples of the Present Perfect Continuous Tense:

-She has been learning English for 3 years

-I have been teaching English since last year
-They have been touring since yesterday
Past Tense
Past Tense is to declare the events that have "Past". Past have not been here long very well, just
been passed, has passed. That's the emphasis. Maybe yesterday, one hour ago, two years ago, two
centuries ago, and so forth. All that's "Past".
