 What marketing techniques have you used?

o For this assignment, I did a few things, and will continue to do some for a
while. I started with communicating to the non profit that I wanted to work
with in what their needs were, and then I created a flyer to post around the
city of Taylorsville. I also worked on their Facebook page as well. I tried to
get this ad posted online so the people of Taylorsville could view this flyer
their too. I also wrote a letter to send to businesses around the city to ask for
donations as well. The best response that I got seemed to be when I posted to
my personal pages to ask for donations from people that I knew.
 Have you reached your goal of raising awareness for your non-profit?
o I think I have reached my goal. I gained awareness of their cause, found
people who needed the help of the pantry, and even got some donations for
the pantry. My goal primarily was to raise awareness for the services that the
Taylorsville Food Pantry provides as well as get some donations in place. I
am still waiting for a response from some companies I requested donations
for. I look forward to continuing this project for a while.
 Is this assignment changing your view of marketing for a non-profit? Why or why not?
o My views for marketing for a non profit did change a little bit. I found that it
was harder for younger generations to want to donate to a non profit. It was
hard to get them to understand the importance of donations. All of the
donations that I received were from people 40+ years old. While there is still
a lot of individuals in this age group, the younger generations is what I was
hoping to target by posting on social media.
