Orai and Interview

Orai is an application that help us to train our speaking skills. We can do some exercise
there, preparing speech, and many more there. Orai is a free application and it is very useful.
Interview is an activity between an interviewee and an interviewer. Interview is usually done
when a person want to apply a job or a scholarship or anything that need information about
the applicants such as the applicant’s character, age, personality, and personal information
that is required for the position. The difference is, although both of them is a speaking activity,
Orai is more focused on training our speaking skills. However, interview is more serious than
Orai because the purpose of interview is more important.
There are a lot of difference in contents between Orai and Interview. Interview is more
focused on content like personal character and personality and competency where Orai is
focused on training our speech, grammar, spelling, and fluency. Preparing for interview
usually more difficult compared to preparing for speaking using Orai app. When we prepare
for interview, we must know about the company. We also need to know our personality, our
weakness and our strength because, it is a commonly asked question related to our
personality, strength and weakness.
There are also a lot of manners when we are speaking in front of people, especially
when we are doing job interview in a company. A company will always score our manners
when we are doing job interview. There are a lot manners like : we must be friendly to listener,
when doing interview, we must maintain our eye contact with the interviewer, if there is more
than one interviewer, look from person to person. We must also be articulate. Listen carefully
to each question and think for a moment before giving your answer.
Orai is different to interview in terms of purpose because interview is used mostly for
applying job. The overall goals from interview are fairly obvious. The interviewer wants to
identify the best candidate for the position and interviewee overall goal is to receive a job
offer or at least make it to the next round of interviews while Orai is used to train our Speaking
so that we can speak English fluently.
The conclusion is that Orai and Interview have its own purpose, manners, and
contents. It is also difference in characteristics where interview is more serious than Orai
because interview will affect our future job that we apply to a company.
