Wildlife Biologist

Need at least a bachelor’s degree; ecology, anatomy, wildlife management,


& cellular biology courses; well-rounded scientific background

Salaries around $48,000 to $72,000

Work in offices, laboratories, and outdoors. Depending on their job and


interests, they may spend considerable time in the field gathering data and
studying animals in their natural habitats. Other wildlife biologists may
spend very little time in the field. Fieldwork can require traveling to
remote locations

Wildlife and Fisheries Officer, Animal Care and Service Workers,


Environmental Scientists and Specialist, Veterinarians

Employment is projected to grow 5% from 2018 to 2028. Will be needed


to study human and wildlife interactions as the human population grows
and development impacts wildlife and their natural habitats

- Love for the outdoors, multiple outdoor skills - Long times away from friends and family
- Great at problem-solving skills during fieldwork
- Leadership skills
- Very passionate about taking care of animals

ARC students should also include a picture from a Focus Event and explain how this added to their career
exploration experiences.
