MUSIC

I. Objectives
At the end of 45 minutes, 45 out of Grade 7 Milflores students will be able to:
1. identify the different kinds of vocal music of Mindanao;
2. describe the types of vocal music of Mindanao;
3. name the different types of indigenous musical instruments of Mindanao;
4. draw their own musical instrument; and
5. appreciate the uniqueness of the music and instruments of Mindanao.

A. ACTIVITY: “LISTEN CAREFULLY”


 Using a speaker, the teacher will play a vocal or instrumental music in the
class.
 The students will listen carefully to the music and they will try to identify if it is
vocal or instrumental.
B. ANALYSIS:
 How do you find the activity?
 What is vocal music?
 What is instrumental ensemble?
 What is the vocal music of Mindanao?
 What is the importance of indigenous Philippine music to the ethnic groups?
 What are the kinds of indigenous music of Mindanao?
 What are the types of songs of Mindanao vocal music?

C. ABSTRACTION:
The teacher will ask the students about the different kinds of vocal music
of Mindanao and they will describe the types of vocal music of Mindanao. The
teacher will just add further information.

Name of the activity: “THINK WISELY”


a. The students will be divided into 6 groups.
b. The teacher will give a description of each indigenous musical instruments of
Mindanao to each group.
c. There will be pictures of each indigenous musical instruments provided in the
board and the students will decide where the description they pick belong.

D. APPLICATION: GROUP ACTIVITY


 The students will remain to their respective group.
 The teacher will provide a cartolina where students can draw their own
instrument. It should be originally came from the creative mind of each member
of the group.
