1967- Under the Marcos administration, the Philippines became one of the founding members of the Association of
Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN)
The Philippine Congress passed Resolution No. 2 which called for a Constitutional Convention to change
the 1935 Constitution. (March 16, 1967)
1971- The Constitutional Convention Assembles to rewrite the 1935 Constitution [June 1]
