Asian Para Games: Indonesia adds six golds

Indonesia won four gold medals in badminton finals matches on Saturday, putting the
country's gold medal haul in badminton at the 2018 Asian Para Games at six.
The golds were won by Dheva Anrimusthi in men's singles, the Dheva-Hafizh
Briliansyah and Fredy Setiawan-Dwiyoko pairs in men's doubles, and Hary Susanto and Ratri
Leani Oktila in mixed doubles.
Following each of the victories, spectators at Istora Senayan, where the competitions
were held, erupted in cheers.
Hary and Ratri made quick work of Thailand's Siripong Teamarrom and Nipada Saensupa,
winning in straight games 21-7, 21-10.
"We were relaxed and optimistic during the game because we have faced the Thai pair
four times and we always won," Ratri said during a press conference after the game.
Speaking on her future plans, Ratri said she would focus on improving her skills as a
mixed doubles player to prepare for the 2020 Paralympics.
Another pair, Fredy and Dwiyoko, narrowly won over South Koreans Jeon Sunwoo and
Joo Dongjae in straight games 22-20, 22-20.
Dwiyoko thanked Indonesian supporters for giving them the advantage in the men’s doubles tilt.
"They motivated us to earn each and every point," Dwiyoko said after the match.
In men’s singles, Dheva won gold after defeating fellow compatriot Suryo Nugroho 22-20, 21-
13.
Together with Hafizh, he earned another gold after defeating Suryo and Oddie Kurnia 21-
9, 21-9 in men’s doubles.
In total at the Para Games, Indonesia has won 135 medals comprising 37 golds, 47 silvers
and 51 bronzes, placing it fifth overall behind Japan, which has won 45 golds. (dic)
