Key Design Parameters

above grade
Ø Bar 6 @ 12 inches Crs. EW T&B Concrete density γ 144 kN/m³

12 mm
Soil density γ 0 kN/m³
PUMP FOUNDATION DESIGN Allowable bearing Cap 2000 kN/m²
Increase pump frame
compacted stone layer Grade EL on width size by (see #) 4 mm
Design Methodology Used. (a combined Rule of Thumb & Equivalent Static Method). on length size by (see #) 1 mm
1. Take the pump size and increase all round by user inputted amounts. Note Concrete Slab 6 mm Ht above grade 12 mm
2. Take the pump wt and multiply by 3 to 5 for a suitable mass of concrete. these fields are typ for all Depth to frost line 60 mm
3. Max base pressure is based on the Total Vert loads + 25% Total Vert load 12 mm oversize all around Angle for excavation 45 deg
as a Horiz force @ ½ the base thk'ness above Top of Conc, (as a moment). Z User input Re-bar extra 10% Over-excavate round by 12 mm
4. User inputted Plinth/pedestal ht above grade and min frost depths. Mud mat thk'ness 2 mm
5. The spread sheet calculates the min depth of concrete required. 45º Angle of Excavation Stone thk below slab 4 mm
6. The output size is re-caculated to the nearest 100mm. Grade slab Thk'ness 6 mm
Set soil γ = 0, for 'Gross' Base Pressure, else input soil
Mud Mat Thk'ness 2 mm density value for a 'Net' Base Pressure.

NOTE: Formwork allowance of plus 150mm on the height.

Use a factor of 5 for Reciprocating, (ie piston moving) pumps
This is info needed for the Drafter! Refer to Note № 3, Max Base Pressure.
Rules of Thumb and a factor 3 for Centrifugal, (ie rotating) pumps.
Where piled supports are used, use min Factors 4 & 2.5.

User Option to increase or decrease depth E(min), or say 'To Rock'.
