The GLAD Technique

For Our Youth

Begin using the GLAD technique with your children to start them in the right,
positive direction.

Depending on their age, allow them to not only write out their answers, but to
draw them. Be sure to offer pencils, color pencils, crayons and washable
markers for fun and variety.
Remember to make it fun and keep it simple!

Go over this sheet at the end of each day by making it an evening "family wind-
down activity". Another option is to alternate it with story time... or
incorporate it into story time.
The importance isn't "the how"- and regardless of how- just make sure that you
do.

Prepare them to start thinking about these 4 questions at dinner time.

In fact, this is a great time to communicate with all family members and you
could easily go around the table, allowing everyone to chime in about their day
and what exactly it is they are grateful for.
Makes for awesome family time and as a wonderful reminder of just how
awesome that life is. We are in the greatest country, in the greatest world of
the greatest Universe.
