Life cycle Thinking
MoEF engages stake holders to use
Life Cycle Thinking in order to
address environmental issues with
highly public concern
Example :
- Disposal Diapers Waste;
- Plastic Bag;
- Operational Standard Sincronization for
Secondari Materials Towards Circular Economy
DISPOSABLE DIAPERS
WASTE MANAGEMENT
Issues Production Consumption End of Life
Standards Product : Consumer Information : Extermination :
1. Biodegradable 1. Usage Procedure 1. Inceneration
2. Gel Subtitution 2. Disposal 2. Waste to energy
Procedure (not 3. Landfill
exist) Treatement:
1. Not to be applied to food
crops

Regulation Disposable diapers

potentionally pollu-ted
the environ-ment
(catagorized as
hazardous waste)
Education Toilet Training educa-
tion (for babies/ infant)
Condition 1. Sorting
2. Prohibit littering

SINCRONIZATION OF SECONDARY
MATERIAL HANDLING
OPERATIONAL STANDARD
TOWARDS CIRCULAR ECONOMY

Ensuring secondary material quality to supply production

of paper and plastic product from recycled material

Despite the complexity material streams in Indonesia, the

exercise shows that it is possible to determined standards
in quality and classifications of secondary materials supply
chain : start from collectors (waste bank, scavenger, etc),
material pre processing, to production for end product

Focus on operational change in household and

public facilities
