2) INEQUALITY IN EDUCATION
When we see the above data, let’s examine the first thing, illeterate SCs and STs are
32.4%(19.6 SCs and 11.8 STs) out of all the illeterate. Now out of 25.2% of total (SCs
and STs) or out of 30crore people, we got 28.97% SCs and 17.45% STs, ie., 46.42% of
total SCs/ STs are uneducated. The government always said we have a literacy rate
of above 70% as an average. Then, why these figures are so different. Because the
number of educated generals out of total generals are pretty high, which counters
the 46.42% of totally uneducated SC/ST people.

Now, the second observation from the given data and above graph is, the people who pursued
graduation after higher secondary.
Now, 61.8% of SCs and 54.21% of STs after completing higher secondary went for graduation.
92.78% of general population went for graduation after completing higher secondary.
As we know, the fee of government schoools are pretty low but for college, the fee structure
changes, drastically. So, mostly the generals are financially stable to afford those colleges
which is not the case for the 39.2% and 46.8% of SCs and STs respectively.

Observation(Apart from
main topic)
While doing this assignment, we observed that we don’t have census data
of transgender. And then after some research, we found out that the
transgender data was separated from all the othe main stream data and
before the 2011 census, census didn’t even consider transgenders.
So, now the question arise, that even after we are fighting for LGBTQ laws
and equalities, why their data is separated from that of other
population(males and females). There are approximately 5lakh
transgenders in India. Why are we consider them as separated from other
population?
