A. Content
Standards
The learner demonstrates understanding of concepts and underlying principles in performing measurements and calculations.
B. Performance
Standards
The learner independently performs accurate measurements and calculations based on a given tasks.
C. Learning 1. Accurate measurements are obtained from relevant sources.
Competencies /
2. Calculation needed to complete work tasks are performed using the four fundamental operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)
Objectives
Write the LC code for 3. Numerical computation is self-checked and corrected for accuracy.
each LC CODE : TLE_ICTCS7/8MC-0f-2

A bit can have only two possible values, a one digit (1) or a zero digit (0).
A bit can be used to represent the state of something that has two states.
For example, a light switch can be either On or Off; in binary
representation, these states would correspond to 1 and 0, respectively.
Examples:
Q R
40/2 20 0
20/2 10 0
10/2 5 0
5/2 2 1
2/2 1 0
½ 0 1

Now I will give a board work. All you need to do is to convert the
following from decimal number to binary digits and from binary digits to
decimal number on the board. Two students will compete for each
given number. After 1 minute, the student who got the right answer will
be given love emoji and a piece of candy. In case that the two students’
answers are incorrect, classmates of their choice may steal and will be
given the same reward if the answer is correct.
Very good class, its seems that you really know how to convert and
calculate.

Now I will give you a Group Activity which is called “Decode Me “ Game.
I will give you ten minutes. The group who will finish earlier will be given
5 points, 4 points, 3 points and 2 points, respectively. When the group is
finished, they will sing their yell, and then after that, they will post their
activity sheets on the board.
Group 1.
Given: 1. 23 – 5 + 9 / 2 * 3
2. 10 – 1 + 8 / 3 * 2
Group 2.
Given: 1. 8 - 2 + 12 / 4 * 6

Have you ever tried writing a letter to your crush using symbols and
numbers?
Yes ma’am!
Remember class:
Computers interpret only patterns of bits where information is
stored.
When something is represented digitally, the greater the detail,
the greater the number of bits needed to represent it.
H. Making generalizations Steps in converting decimal numbers to binary digits:
and abstractions about the 1. Divide the number by 2. Get the quotient and the remainder.
lesson
2. Bring down the quotient, divide it by 2, and get the quotient
and remainder again.
3. Do it repeatedly until the quotient results to 0.
4. Copy the remainder from bottom to top, and that is the binary
equivalent.
5. Do the checking.
Directions: Convert the following decimal numbers to binary digits and
