Title LEARNING ACTION CELL - SCHOOL SAFETY LOCKDOWN AND LOCKUP

Rationale A lockdown of a building or group of buildings is an emergency procedure intended to secure and protect occupants who are in the proximity of an immediate threat.
This procedure is used when it may be more dangerous to evacuate a building than stay inside. By controlling entry/exit and movement within a facility, emergency
personnel are better able to contain and handle any threats.

Objectives 1. To establish guidelines for locking down the facility in the event of an emergency situation;
2. To understand the precautionary actions during lockdown;
3. To be aware of the procedures when locking up the school premise;

Strategy Opening program, proper discussion with PowerPoint presentation, Lockdown and Lockup drill, closing program.

 Successful drill.

Sustainability The activity has a 100% sustainability because the teachers were able to participate actively without sacrificing the classes during the conduct of the activity.
