Hello, Alexander.

It's a pleasure to be connected to connected with someone from Bulgaria.

Your country is beautiful, culture is rich, and the entire Slavic world
should be thankful to your great nation for inventing the Cyrillic alphabet.

That aside, thank you for complementing Sanskrit and India.

Sanskrit as a language is quite old (dates back to 5000-3000 BC) and isn't
spoken by any people as their native language. But the modern languages
that we speak in the North of India (Indo Aryan languages) are evolved
from Sanskrit, and we still use a lot of words which are from Sanskrit or
derived from it.

That said, we still use the same alphabet, and there are scholars who can
read and write the language, therefore it is not a lost language, and in the
forseeable future will not be.

Thank You Ordinary Guy.
We live in a world that tells us that we're evolving.. getting better all the
time, more technologically advanced, more civilized, more educated and
so on..; however, in linguistics there's this dilemma: all ancient languages
(Sanskrit in India, Old Bulgarian in Bulgaria, Old German in N. Europe,
Latin in the Italic Peninsula...) seem quite more advanced than their
modern counterparts and that's a problem because language is simply a
reflection of the society that uses it, .. and that doesn't square well with the
theory that our (human) society was primitive in the past and more
advanced now.

Hinduism is nearly lost. There used to be 56 countries on the planet which
were Hindu, now there is barely one. Even the Hindus in India do not
follow and practice their ancient traditions, getting lost in the Kali Yuga.
Many gurus are suffering great persecutions, like Swamiji Nithyananda
who are trying to revive Hinduism and empower people. Hindus need to
unite and realize the asuras want to destroy Hinduism totally and wipe it
off the planet. Do not persecute Gurus and sanyasis who have proved
themselves spiritually to be what they are. Do not listen to the media.
Everyone is lying to you at every step! Hinduism is the Maha Sathya great
truth! Hindus unite and remember who you are!

This is a known story to me; my tiny country, Bulgaria, has given up the
resistance to these same "foreign power" and now is on the way of
vanishing from the face of the Earth.. forever. But you in India have
managed to free yourselves from them once before, so maybe you can do

it again and join a small number of really free countries in this world and
thus shine the light of hope to follow for the rest of us.

@Ashlyn Lawson....Sister, I don't know that how much you studied
about Hinduism because it is the biggest misconception about
Hinduism that it is polytheistic....
World's 1st Monotheism revealed in Holy Vedas as " Ekam Sat
Vipra Vahuda Vadanti " - 1. 164. 46 - Rig Ved ( God is One , Sages
Call him Various names )

" Na ditiyo na tritiyo na chaturtha na puchate na panchamo na

shasto na saptamo na puchate na astamo na nabamo na dasamo ,
ja etong devmekobritam ved " - 13/4/2 - Atharva Ved ( God is
One, not 2nd not 3rd not 4rth not 5th not 6th not 7th not 8th not 9th
not 10 )
I just refer 2 examples.....
Hinduism is True Monotheism in the fold of Polytheism ...
Means not Various deities... One God with Infinite forms... As "
Tadaixat bohu sang Prajameva " - 6. 2. 3 - Chandogya Upanishad (
He became many )

And Buddhism / Jainism is never detached from Hinduism... If

you read " Shankya & Yoga Philosophy which are two famous
Philosophical Schools of Vedic / Indian Philosophy.... You will see
Buddhism & Jainism based on this 2 Philosophy schools... Buddha
was the reformer of Hinduism who rebeled against " Brahmin
Supremacy & Yagna ( Rituals of Vedas ) " but never denied the
Philosophical / Mystical Part of Vedas .... Nirvana & Kaivalla -
are based on Moksha / Liberation of Vedas...... Buddha /
Mahabira never denied " The Karma & Rebirth theory " - which
is Vedic theory...
Astangik Marg , Meditation of Buddhism based on Yog
Sadhana...

@Ashlyn Lawson . calmdown I would not be the assumption... The
religion in which u researched for 6 year... On which I am borned... So I
think I know more... All these. Buddhism, Jain, sikh are originated from
hinduism all's forefathers were hindu..... And one thing hinduism is not a
religion... The people who live in India are known to be hindu.. (beyond
indus river )... Its a art of living from ancient times... And I confirm ..
There are not so many gods in hinduism.. They all r the forms of one
god.... Hinduism has 3 major gods as similar to Christian...

That's exactly with the hinduism the 3 gods are the form of one as I
ti d th I l d ll it' f A d id th t it d
mentioned there Is only one god all r it's form.. And u said that its does
not mean that knowledge of religion only be gathered by taking birth in it
but I am not a child I also studied my religion well.. I am not from that
category. Who only boasted about there religion.. And also not arguing
about.. My religion.. To the best... If I don't pray my god then also they
did not put me in Hell as Islam.. And hinduism is very advanced if u have
studied about this that u very well know(... 6 year experience..) I a love
my religion and I thoroughly believe in it

@Ashlyn Lawson.... Yes Sister , I respect Goutama Buddha ,
Mahavira , Guru Nanak ( Glorious Sons of India ).. Buddhism,
Jainisn , Sikhism - this 3 religions evolved from same Culture, Same
Philosophy , Same Source ( Vedas ) as Christianity & Islam
evolved from Judaism..
& there is also biggest misconception that " Buddha never
believed " Eternity of Soul " because As per I studied , " Buddha
never said directly or indirectly that Non - Existence of Soul ( A
natmabaad ) ... Who ever discussed with him about God & Soul...
Buddha remained Silent because his purpose was to relief Humen
from Worldly Sufferings , Sorrows... & gave the Opportunity to attain
" Nirvana / Moksha ".....
Buddha believed in " Sunyata " ( Complete non -
existence ) which is in Vedas , called " Asat "... which is Nirvana ...
and One Sect of Buddhist Philosophical School - " Yogacara "
believed in Soul as a " Witness of that Sunyata ( Non - Existence
)...

We have been fighting tooth and nail just to survive and preserve this
knowledge and our genetic heritage for the last
1,000 years. The combined Persian and Mongolian empire invasion
wanted to convert India to Islam and completely wipe out our ancient
culture and history. Then the British Empire also tried doing the same,
India's warrior race had been completely exhausted defending the Vedic
way, at one point fighting 4, technically 5 if separate moghal into Persian
and Mongolian, different foreign forces at the same time: Portuguese,
British, Afghan, and Moghal. Not to mention the traitors in our own ranks
who were bought off by Invaders with malicious intents. There was alot
of damage done, and our people had to go into survival mode which
meant less time for recreation like learning Sanskrit and the Vedas and
instead finding ways to keep your bloodlines from dying out. We
managed to guard against forced Islamic and Christian conversions and
maintain our traditions as best as possible. Thanks to India's warrior race,
the Kshatriyas---jats, gujjars, khatris, marhattas, and rajputs.

Someone here said that Sanskrit is dead. It is far from dead. There are 24
radio stations that transmit in the language. There are many magazines
than publish in it. Books are still written in it. University classes are still
taught in it. Many people still speak it, learn it, read and write in it. I
studied it myself in a gurukulam in an ashram in Rishikesh, and had
classes given by many teachers who speak the language fluently. They
give extensive commentaries on Sanskrit texts from the Vedas. We are
most fortunate that this tradition is still alive and accessible for those who
are interested.

For those of European heritage out there, the Sanskrit and Vedic tradition
is also ours. Before Europe was Christianized, our religions were very
much related to the Vedic tradition, and we we still speak languages that
derived from Sanskrit. In those more ancient times, our languages were
even closer to Sanskrit, so much so that someone who spoke the ancient
forms of Celtic, Slavic, Germanic, and Romance languages could have
still understood someone who spoke Sanskrit or one of the related Prakrit
still understood someone who spoke Sanskrit or one of the related Prakrit
languages. Even though our ancient traditions have largely been lost
(though still not completely), we can get to know about them as much as
we can, and we can learn enough about Vedic language, religion, and
culture to help understand and get closer to our ancient heritage.

Just like Alexander said, these ancient languages were more advanced and
refined than our modern languages. Learning these languages brings us
ancient knowledge as well as helps to refine our thinking. It is said that
learning Sanskrit brings nobility and many other such positive qualities.
It is a repository of knowledge of the physical sciences and the science of
the mind and body. It is the 'language of the gods' - it also brings us close
to the divine, to an understanding of universal truth and individual
enlightenment.

@Wei Zhao I get it from am outsider's perspective it looks like blame.
Sure,.some of the onus is on us. However, when an entire populace has
been taught to mock their culture through film, pop-culture as well as
education in schools, the chances are that this populace will reject that
culture. Indians have been made to feel ashamed for being Indians - this
was the started of the British Raj - the fallout of which perpetuates till this

day. However, I agree with you here - in this day and age of
unprecedented freedom In terms of what can be found on the internet,
Indians need to gain that lost culture back, without playing the victim
card.

you which is per definition blame. there are no 'outsiders' or 'insiders', it is
just you who think you are in on something and it is your prejudice that

creates the ignorance in which you project me to know less than you do
about a certain topic by default. this is logic, not a matter of sides.

@Wei Zhao I think you are homogenising too much. Why do you think
each country's culture is so different from the other - not only in terms of
each country s culture is so different from the other not only in terms of
traditions, but also how the people of that country think. In other words,
the way a people thinks is directly related to the environment they grew
up in. So in other words a culture of brainwashing breeds people who are
brain washes, just as an individualistic culture like the US breeds very

individualistic people. This phenomenon is very well known, documented

and researched.

Quote what I said and address the arguments individually.
You will not do so, as you are avoiding the consequences of that.

You can say the phenomenon is well known and researched, but
arguments like that are appeals to authority and adjective-based
associations, not logical reasoning.

You're implying that culture is relevant, when the matter is you blaming
your current set of knowledge on the culture that you grew up in.

"I was brainwashed" is saying "They took care of my thinking" which is

blame. People lying to you and you believing it does not mean you were
brainwashed, it means you believed it. It is blame, when you say "we", it
is blame when you say "my mind was done to me".
That will forever be blame.

Say I am wrong again and you'll be admitting that you're missing the
point on purpose. @Amartya Majumdar

what I said, don't pretend you know what I understand and what I don't. If
you aren't trying to understand, it's dumb of you to say I mustn't
understand you, and it's hypocrite. You're calling me an ignorant child, but

I'm not doing the same to you. You're using an example which a priori
confirms your view, which omits the important details I mentioned, to
prove that your point is true, whether it is actually the truth or not. A child
is as much responsible as an adult.

You can cut the cord and pretend I am saying, a child that is raped should
be blamed for not defending. If you are doing that then you are projecting

noble race. You have contributed immensely to the world, have even defeated
ruthless invaders, have achieved independence from powerful colonial powers
but failed to achieve unity. They are divided thru distorted history and
communal political ideologies. They have forgotten the pristine principles and
values of the Vedas and descended into something contrary to the Vedic way of
life
.

Indians must return to their culture. Unfortunately, Indians themselves do not

have faith in their culture due to their fascination of foreign culture. They
consider other cultures modern and crave to imitate foreign lifestyle and thus
lose their identity in that process. They who forget, must be reminded of the
words of French philosopher historian and writer Francois Voltaire who stated :
words of French philosopher, historian and writer, Francois Voltaire who stated :

“ …everything has come down to us from the banks of the Ganga, - astronomy,
astrology, metempsychosis, etc.

What then is Indian Culture? It is not dance and music or the indecent way of
life as shown in Bollywood movies. What is portrayed in these movies are not
Vedic values.

Real Indian culture have existed and remained strong for thousands of years. It
is based on the Vedic principal of ‘Loka samastha sukhino bhavantu’ (may the
entire world be happy). The real vedic culture of the Indians commands that
there will be no room for differences based on color, creed, religion, caste or
country. It demands that all move and grow together, share and improve on
knowledge, to live in warm friendship, peace and love without any difference
and in equanimity.

How many Indians have made their children read the Ramayana? This great epic
which is so relevant today, teaches human values in the simplest way. It had set
the universal principles and standards for every stage of human society. It
demonstrates the highest principals and guides for husbands and wives, parents
and children, and society to follow and what is expected of them. Besides
having a complete guide on the methods to govern society and a country as a
whole, it demonstrates the consequences of lust, hatred and greed. Sadly, this
precious epic have been ridiculed and distorted by some ignorant speakers and
consequently, the Ramayana is treated as a mere tale. Rama was a great and
pure leader.

Sri Krsna - the prince of Dwaraka is often depicted as a playboy There is

Sri Krsna the prince of Dwaraka, is often depicted as a playboy. There is

hardly any Indian who will stand up and correct the distorted version of Sri
Krsna. Even so called gurus are using the same filthy interpretations on Sri
Krsna. . TO ALL THE HINDU GURUS OUT THERE, AS A NON- HINDU,
I HAD PAINSTAKINGLY STUDIED AND RESEARCHED INTO YOUR
RELIGION, AND TELL YOU THIS - Contrary to popular belief, Sri Krsna did
NOT marry the sixteen thousand female prisoners. This is a huge
misinterpretation. Scholars were confused between the yogic science of the
‘Sahasraara Chakra’ in the human body (which is said to have a thousand petals
and each carry sixteen phases where it is believed Sri Krsna is symbolically the
lord presiding over it) and the sixteen thousand women. These are two distinct
and separate issues. There are many misinterpretations and false accusations by
so called scholars on Sri Krsna which holds no truth at all. Sri Krsna also was a
great and pure teacher.
I hope Indians start believing in themselves. Please clear up the distortions.
AND LEARN SANSKRIT!

My apologies if I am a little hard in my words today.

religion it's knowledge Don't even compare taimur to tejasvi

song is deeply meaningful. As a Chinese Buddhist, I hope Sanskrit can be kept
