Dear recruitment team of Ecopetrol S.A.

I introduce myself, I am julian felipe mendoza vergara 24 years old, which is aspiring to the position
of environmental engineer with specialization or master's degree in environmental geology for the
development of new techniques for the correct exploration and exploitation of hydrocarbons with
emphasis on environmental care and geological in the exploration areas.

I am aware of the call for the dissemination of information requesting environmental engineers with
these characteristics for the position. At this moment I am an environmental and sanitary engineer
from the University of La Salle in which I apply my thesis in the study of the contamination of
hydrocarbons in several segments or structural types of soil for the examination of its critical phases
in the displacement of the pollutant depending on the degree of porosity and the types of strata it has.
graduated on December 6, 2018 and currently doing a master's degree in environmental geology at
the Complutense University of Madrid, in order to expand my knowledge in the interest of geology
and how it can be applied in care processes of the environment and in turn to take advantage of the
potential of the soil as a natural resource.

I am qualified to hold the positions since the previous investigations realized in the University of La
Salle, allows me to corroborate with the care and the responsibility that must have for the preservation
and the protection of the natural resources.

The protection of natural resources in the processes of exploration and exploitation of hydrocarbons,
focuses on the high pollution generated by these processes, pollution by hydrocarbons is a constant
problem within the oil industries, in turn the remediation or recovery of natural resources are the main
aspects or qualities that seek for the position, with my research experience, an experimental method
was performed to determine how the contaminant can be displaced in different groups forming soil,
which show interesting data for the prevention of contamination to underground bodies of water or to
the destination of the pollutant which can be treated by different means to be eliminated or recovered.

On the other hand my professional experience and at the same time my current studies, allow me to
develop new techniques for the protection of the environment in the geological aspects, since having
new knowledge in the area and the characteristic formation of the prospects for the extraction of
hydrocarbons , it is possible to determine the typology of the soil and, in turn, the strata it handles, in
order to apply hydrocarbon spreading prevention techniques, since in previous works techniques
were applied, such as compaction by clay and the application of hydrocarbon containment tunnels.

In order to prevent direct contamination of the substrate by this product. These techniques and others
are the most relevant for the development of the position to occupy which means that it will meet the
expected expectations not only for an excellent quality of the development of new technologies for
corporate responsibility and thus be able to fulfill the main objective which is the care of natural
resources.

There is no doubt that the position must be filled not only by an environmental and sanitary engineer
but also by an expert geologist and having the advantage of having this opportunity to practice this
master's degree is convenient to continue in the selection process.
