Dear Roosevelt Parents and Guardians:
This letter is to inform you about a situation we handled on campus today. We want to share as
much as we can to keep the lines of communication open and make sure everyone has accurate
information.
Around 9:30 AM, a student reported that another student was seen with a gun walking down
the hallway. We immediately went into our lockdown procedures and contacted the North East
Police Department (NEPD).
Three students have been identified and taken into custody. It was determined that the student
did not have an actual gun, but instead, fake toy guns.
We understand that the idea of a lockdown can be a point of anxiety for parents and students,
but we use this procedure for safety.
