    WORK INSTRUCTIONS
    IN CASE OF “MAJOR FIRE EMERGENCY”

    List of emergency action by the security


    gate in charge

    1. Receive the clear information of emergency


    ( nature & location)

    2. Dispatch the on duty security guards at main gate to


    emergency site

    3. Blow emergency alarm siren as emergency alarm to all


    concerned

    4. Stop the gate entry

    5. Inform the fire brigade Malanpur, Gwalior

    6. Inform the doctor / hospital

    7. Inform manager HR & ADMIN

    8. Alert ambulance vehicle for carrying the seriously injured


    person to hospital

    9. send non duty security guards to emergency site for rescue


    work

    10 Guide fire brigade to emergency site on arrival


    ROLE OF HR & ADMIN HEAD
    IN CASE OF MAJOR EMERGENCY
    1 Inform district emergency officer
    (collector / authorized Person) on
    instruction from Unit Head.

    2 Liaison with site controller (unit head)

    3 Inform to police, hospitals of the area

    4 Arrange extended shelters (tents etc)

    4 Liaison with district authorities

    5 Food supplies for visiting, serving and


    affected people.

    6 Send information to the seriously injured


    persons home/family

    7 Undertake transport arrangement and its


    movement control .

    8 Deliver authorized statements only about


    hazardous incident and emergency
    situation .

    1 Rush to emergency control room / site


    2 Instruct the incident controller situation as per
    Situation

    3 Declare major emergency / evacuation from the


    plant

    4 Instruct for affected unit closure / entire plan


    closure

    5 Keep in contact with incident controller for


    latest information on the emergency.

    6 Keep in contact with key persons and instruct


    Accordingly

    7 Response to district authorities and higher


    management as per situation

    8 Visit the site when all clear and plan


    accordingly.

    ROLE OF INCIDENT CONTROLLER


    IN CASE OF MAJOR EMERGENCY

    On receipt of emergency information-

    1 Judge the situation and inform to site controller


    2 Act as site controller in the absence of site
    controller

    3 Declare plant emergency as per situation

    4 Instruct plant / affected area evacuation

    5 Instruct and coordinate with key persons

    6 Keep in contact with and pass required


    information to the site controller

    Role of safety officer


    in case of emergency

    1 Help incident controller in


    handling the emergency
    situation

    2 Guide the emergency team to


    use appropriate tools to control
    the emergency situation
    3 Coordinate with the out side
    emergency team on arrival

    4 follow instructions of site


    controller

    5 Advise protection of adjacent


    structure / property
    6 Announce instructions to
    emergency handling person

    FIRE POLICY

    POLICY WHICH MUST INCLUDE THE
    FOLLOWING :
    1 WE SHALL ENSURE ROUND THE CLOCK FIRE VIGILANCE IN THE
    PLANT / CONCERNED ESTABLISHMENT.

    2 WE SHALL ENSURE THE PROVISION OF FIRE FIGHTING SYSTEM


    AND ENSURE ITS MAINTENANCE AND CARE FOR ITS NEED FULL
    USE IN CASE OF EMERGENCY.

    3 WE SHALL CONTINUOUSLY TRAIN OUR EMPLOYEE AND STAFF IN


    FIRE FIGHTING.

    4 WE SHALL INVSTIGATE EVEN MINOR FIRE INCIDENT FOR ITS


    ROOT CAUSE AND ENSURE REQUIRED PRECAUTIONARY
    MEASURES.

    5 WE SHALL EMPLOY THE QUALIFIED SAFETY PROFESSIONAL AND


    ENSURE UPKEEP OF THE FIRE SERVICE IN THE ORGANISATION

    6 WE SHALL PROTECT OUR MAN , MATERIAL AND PROPERTY


    AGAINST THE FIRE LOSS.
