PANDANGGO SA ILAW / PANDANG GITAB

Pandanggo sa Ilaw is a very famous folk dance in the Philippines. This dance
was interpreted as Dance of Lights, a waltz-style, playful folk dance that showcases
each different combination of local and western indigenous dance styles. Originated
in Lubang Island, Mindoro in the Philippines, it is usually presented during festivities
and special occasions..
The Pandanggo sa Ilaw was one of the appealing dance for me because when
I watch this popular folk dance in the Phillipines I feel like I’m in a different place
where there are dancing lights, floating and have different movements that surely
catches the attention of anyone who will watch this dance performance. Actually I've
experience this popular folk dance when I was in highschool that's why I was
impressed by other damcers who perform it well because I really had a hard time on
maintaining the light inside the glass.
