a) Subjective questionnaires employ the inquiry method to ask subjects about their

experiences regarding something. Subjective questionnaires are limited given they

each question may be interpreted differently by different respondents. Furthermore,
the responses could change depending on the timing of the questionnaire
administration. A tired worker could have more negative responses regarding the
suitability of working conditions than one who just reported to work.
b) Checklists are easy to construct and use. They are also useful for sharing information
with stakeholders. They are also crucial tools during self-assessment. Disadvantages
of checklists include providing limited information. They also do not indicate an
items position relative to others.
c) An ideal computer workstation has appropriate furniture location, equipment layout
and accessories required for maintaining ergonomic conditions. It takes into account
the type of computer that will be used, laptop or desktop. The computer needs to be in
a stable working surface. The chair needs to provide lumbar support as well as
armrests. The computer monitor needs to be placed directly in front of the user, it
should be at comfortable height and viewing distance. To maintain an appropriate
posture, accessories should be placed within reach such that the user is relaxed and
upright when working with them. The keyboard should be at an appropriate distance
from the user. Furthermore, a computer workstation needs to be in a room without
noise pollution, with adequate lighting and ventilation.
d) In adjusting a computer workstation, ergonomic strategies can be employed to analyze
the specific context of a computer user. This involves establishing the length of time
spent on the workstation daily, the non-computer-related tasks, whether the use is
mouse or keyboard intensive, and whether it requires the use of the computer and the
phone at the sometime. Furthermore, it is crucial to establish posture habits of the user
as well as whether they have any eye problems.
e)
 Body mass-assessing the weight of a person
 Stature- assessing the height of an individual
 Length of limbs- assessing the knee height or length of forearm
f)
 Chair height- too low insufficient space under desk and too high
 Armrests- too low, hard or damaged surfaces
 Backrest- no back and lumbar support
 Monitor- neck twist, too low
 Telephone- too far, shoulder and neck hold
 Mouse- different surfaces
 Keyboard- wrists extended, keyboard tray too high
