Golden Tips for Examinations
Dear Students,
Examinations are the toughest
times that every child has to go
thorough in his life, there can
be no magic mantras to solve
the problems of examinations
but for sure we can solve them
with some preparations. Here are
some tips that I offer you which
I have developed over with my
experience of over 20 Years in
teaching. Hope they will help
you provided you follow them
religiously.
1. Start The Day Positively
2. Discipline Your Life
3. Time Management
4. Preparations
5. Making Reading Habits
6. Developing concentration
7. Memorising
8. The Pre-Exam Revision
9. Mock Tests
10. The finals i.e. writing the
exam.

These are the 10 main areas that
every student has to keenly work
on to face the examinations in
the best way. In a series of few
articles I will try to brief you
students how to get ready, in this
article I will help you on the 1st 3
Points. ….. Here we go….
Start The Day Positively:
• Make it a point to get up at
least 3 Hours before you leave to
your school.
• If you believe in god offer
your prayers to God. If you don’t
believe in God sit silently for 2 to
3 minutes in meditation.

• Look into the mirror and
smile and look at your image.
It will be refreshing. But when
you smile, the body releases
Neurotransmitters like Dopamine
(Pleasure) and serotonin (feel
good). These will keep you
energetic, active and enthusiastic
throughout the day.
• Study for at least an hour
before you get ready to school,
pack your bag according to your
time table.
Discipline Your Life
• It’s very important that
you fix a time to study everyday
exactly at the same time and
according to a Time Table.
Remember it is very important
that you stick to your time table.
• Concentration Depends
on Time Management and Space
Management, Do you keep your
things at right place? Do you fold
you Bed Sheets after you wake up?
Are you always on the Run? If so
learn Time Management.
• Friends are important
but not at the cost of losing your
precious time. Ask your friends
not to call you after Seven and
You too don’t call them after
Seven in the evening. Because
some times a conversation begins
on a small matter and goes to
trivial things.
• Tell your parents not to
invite guests during study hours,
because it is always a case of
distraction.
• Be careful about what you
do before your studies i.e. don’t
involve yourself in pleasant gossips
or heated arguments because it
may distract or disturb your mind.
• When you feel your
concentration is deteriorating,
or feeling lazier, analyze your life
style, eating habits, your friends
etc. Achievers stay in the company
of achievers and rogues stay in
company of rogues.
Time Management :
• It’s all about how you spend
your time. Prioritize your activities
as
o Important
o Not so Important
o Not at all Important
• Once this is done, focus on
the important activities first and
leave the rest.
• Set an alarm for doing your
things in a timely manner.
• Stick to your timings even
if hell breaks down.

 SHRI GANESH PUJA
The festival of Lord Ganesh
spreads the message of honesty
and love throughout this world.
Ganesh puja is celebrated every
year with much fervour.
This year in our school Ganesh
Puja was celebrated on September
2nd, 2019.
The Chaturthi starts with Vedic
hymns prayers Vrata and Hindu
texts such as Ganesh Upanishad.
In our school, the puja started at
11:30 am the first session started
with a traditional lamp lighting
and aarthi.
M. Pavitra (Class X)
According to this puja in our
school the first step was aarthi and
then pranapratista it includes the
puja of the murti or idol. In the
second step, it is Shodasopachara
which also includes puja and
prayers the third one is to move
the statue from it’s position and
this is the time when lord Ganesh
blesses every person to get success
in their lives.

All the people took the blessings
from Ganesha. The prasad was
distributed among everyone.
The puja havan was also a major
part of the puja, as it is the main
ritual. A havan is sometimes
called as ‘sacrifice ritual’ which
simply means that we are
sacrificing our everything in fire.
The havan kund is generally made
up of bricks or copper vessels and
stones. This is always built for a
special occasion.
The name Ganesh means ‘ The
guidance of the multitudes’. The
most popular sweets during this
occasion are modak which is made
up of rice or wheat flour stuffed
with the grated coconut and jaggery
with some dry fruits as well.
The last step was visharjan it
involves the idol or the statue that
has to be immersed in water seas or
oceans or lakes. People believe that
after the puja lord Ganesha wants to
go back to their parents lord Shiva
and the goddess Parvati. Hence
visharjan becomes an important
ritual of the puja.

 SCOUTS AND GUIDES : A NEW CHAPTER
The only constant thing in
life is change. We change to make
our soundings and ourselves
better. We change for better.
This year SAINTS school has
introduced a pleasant change to
bring the spirit of teamwork and
selfless service among students.
The scout and guide motto
is BE PREPARED. So, that
you know right thing to do
at the right moment, and
willing to do it. Preparing both
mind and body is essential.
Vision of having scout and
guide in our school is to make
students physically fit along with

studies, to teach them what discipline
is about and to teach self-defence.
On 15th August, 2019 SAINTS
school participated in parade.
Sai Kiran Mohanty commander
of scouts, Ashish Bisoi, the flag
holder of scouts led the platoon.
Shivani Sikari commander of
guides and Safiya Parveen flag
holder did the same for guides. It
was a moment of pride when they
marched and saluted the tricolour
during the Independence Day.
They did not just participate in
the parade; they have taken many
initiates for the betterment of school

since the inception of scouts and
guides. They have cleaned the
ground promoting the idea of
Swatch Vidyalaya. Not only they
are disciplined themselves, they
are taking initiatives to make
all the students of the school
disciplined. During the break,
they encourage other children
to form queues and maintain
discipline in school premises.

Be it any school event, they

are always ready to lend their
hand. As of now, they
have made themselves
indispensable in every
school and they are
always prepared.

 SCHOOL CAPTAIN AND VICE CAPTAINS

Saints school is always ahead
in the matter of character
development and selects the best
student to become a role model
for the whole school; the school
captain and vice captains.
But why is leadership important?
Is it necessary for student to take
responsibility on the behalf of
every student?
Leadership is a quality, which
motivates an individual to bring
the best out of oneself to motivate
others to bring out the best in
herself. Leader is the one who
unites the team and makes the
team learn that it is fine to fall

whom we need to inspire us.
The responsibility is a very
important trait that one has
to develop with time. Being
responsible for one’s own action is
something that comes as a really
handy and useful trait.
WHY ONE DESERVES TO BE
THE CAPTAIN?
First, the leader has to think
that no one deserves anything,
everything has to be earned,
and everything has to be won. A
leader cannot be someone who
got everything on his or her plate.
Higher the position, more the
person needs to work.
Success without failure is
invaluable. A leader has to be
known by her deeds, the work she
does, the decisions they make, the
integrity they have, the courage to
stand up for what they believe and
where they need to, grit.

 TEACHERS’ DAY CELEBRATIONS
As the common adage goes,
‘The future of a country lies in
the hands of its children but the
person who makes the child
capable is a teacher ’. Our school
believes that a teacher moulds
students into future leaders.
Teacher’s day is celebrated on
5th September and this tradition
started from 1962. This is when
Dr. Sarvepalli Radha Krishnan
was born.
Our school celebrates teachers’
day to acknowledge the
challenges, hardships and the
special role that teachers play in
every student’s lives.
Students of class 9th and 10th
together organized an event to

express their gratitude towards
each and every teacher in the
school.
A
beautiful song was presented by
the students of class 9th which
left everyone mesmerized in the
beginning but that wasn’t the
end. Students also organized
some games which kept everyone
engaged but this was just all about
the fun part.
The emotions dug in when the
students presented a skit which
was about the genuine concern
of a teacher towards the student;
it taught the children how one
should always respect their
teacher and how one must not
forget the main aim of education.
Teachers also gave many valuable
insights to the students through
their speeches which still created
a learning experience for the
students.

Students from class 4 to 8 also

celebrated teacher’s day in their
own way, their way of celebrating
teacher’s day and giving respect to
every single teacher who stood by
their side no matter what. It was
memorable.

When the event came to an end,

class 10th students came up with
an idea to not only give presents to
the teachers but also the whole staff
which included the staff working
for school’s security, cleaning, and
transportation system etc.

The strong bond between a student

and teacher was celebrated in the
most genuine way possible, the
whole day surely created memories
for everyone. Memories that one
would cherish for life.

 WINNER
A block level Essay competition
was conducted by the renowned
Odia newspaper, The Samaj to
mark the newspaper’s centenary.
SAINTS School participated with
much enthusiasm. A student
from class 10, Stuti Sampriti Takri
bagged, 3rd prize in the Odia essay
competition at the block level
and got selected for district
level competition to be held
soon. This achievement is
particularly important as our
school is an English medium
school, yet we did well in an
Odia competition. We are
not behind any sphere of
academic challenge.
