INTRODUCTION
Morbus Hansen (MH) is one of the main causes of nontraumatic neuropathy which clinically
manifests as skin and peripheral nerve lesions. Electroneuromyography (ENMG) can help for
severity and prognosis of neuropathy assesment in patients with morbus hansen.
METHOD
This study is a cross-sectional descriptive study. Every patient who has been diagnosed with MH
from clinical or supportive examination, then performed ENMG examination. Each patient will be
assessed for distal latency, amplitude, and nerve conduction velocity in the peripheral nerves of
four of the extremities. ENMG examination includes sensory examination of the radial, median,
ulnar, and suralis nerves. While motoric examination done on the radial nerve, median, ulnar,
peroneus, and tibialis.
RESULTS
This study involved 21 MH patients. The number of male samples was 11, female students were
10. The average age of the sample is 39 years, with the youngest age being 21 years old and 60
years old was the oldest. A total of 16 patients with multi bacillary hansen morbus and 5 patients
with paucibacillary. From ENMG examination, it was found that the most sensory nerve
conduction disturbances in the suralis nerve and the most impaired motor nerve in the peroneus
nerve.
CONCLUSION
MH was obtained with almost the same number of men and women with multibacillary type at the
most frequent. Suralis sensory nerve and peroneus motoric nerve conduction abnormality are most
common.
