    This MRI report is for a 66-year-old female with a history of cancer of the right lateral border of the tongue who underwent a partial glossectomy and neck dissection followed by radiation therapy. The MRI shows small focal induration and thickening at the site of the prior cancer but no enhancing lesions. Edema is seen in neck structures but the oral cavity, mandible, tonsils, and major neck vessels appear normal. Compared to a prior MRI, there are no significant changes. The impression is post-treatment changes with no evidence of recurrent cancer.

    Procedure Description: Pre and post contrast proton MRI of oral cavity and neck is done with T1W SE, T2W TSE
    and FLAIR (dark fluid) and DWI sequences in axial, sagittal and coronal planes using matrix coil.

    Clinical Indications: Case of Ca right lateral border of tongue. Post right partial glossectomy with primary closure
    and right SND on 19/01/17. Post EBRT till 21/04/17.

    Findings:
    Magnetic susceptibility artifacts of dental origin obscure local details in left oral cavity.
    Evidence of right glossectomy and right SND is seen. Small focal induration and minimal thickening is seen at
    ventral surface of lateral aspect of right oral tongue.No nodular enhancing altered signal intensity lesion is seen.

    Edematous changes are seen in myofascial and subcutaneous planes of face, neck, epiglottis, AE folds, bilateral
    false and true cords with effaced bilateral valleculae and pyriform sinuses.
    Bilateral mastoiditis is seen.

    Rest of oral cavity including residual oral and base tongue is unremarkable.
    Mandible shows normal marrow intensity and cortical hypointensity.
    Bilateral tonsillar fossa, tonsils, hard and soft palate are free. Naso and oropharynx appear normal.
    Subglottic and post cricoid regions are unremarkable.
    Bilateral parotid and left submandibular glands show normal signal intensity.
    Regional lymphnode status: No enlarged lymphnodes are seen.
    Major neck vessels show normal flow void.

    Compared to MRI dated 22/9/18, No significant change is seen.

    IMPRESSION: Postop/RT status with Small focal induration and thickening at ventral surface of lateral aspect of
    right oral tongue with no apparent nodular enhancing altered signal intensity lesion and other findings as
    described.
