In this exercise, you will be performing a series of three tasks that will need to be
completed before the end of the semester. You are being given a massive amount of time
to complete this, so I expect absolute professionalism. Do not wait till the night before to
complete. Follow the instructions below to achieve maximum points.
Produce: Prudfrock is an
examination of the tortured
psyche of the prototypical
modern man—overeducated,
eloquent, neurotic, and
emotionally stilted. Some critics
suggest this may be T.S Eliot’s
own anxieties. Create a poem
that addresses something you
are worried about using the 5
various literary devices T.S. Eliot
uses within his poem.
Visual: Using StoryboardThat,
students should identify an
important scene that is a pivotal
character moment or that
shows one of the prevalent
themes within Death of a
Salesman. Using the traditional
or 16x9 layout, students should
recreate the scene, trimming
dialogue as necessary. They can
include a "previously on" cell
like the example above to help
root the scene in context.
Write: Watch the movie The
Great Gatsby (either the 1979
or the 2013 movie). Write a one
to two-page, double space,
compare and contrast paper on
the differences between the
book and the movie. Are there
Easter eggs, or allusions, to the
novel? Are literary characters or
themes missing in the movie?

adviser, explaining your
diagnosis based on his "love
song"—his poem. Use letter
form: a salutation, block
paragraphs, a closing, and your
signature identifying yourself
(creatively) as his "doctor."

Inferno. Research what the lines
means within Alighieri’s Inferno
and apply to how it works
within Prudfrock. Does it work
or does it not work? How does
this relate to the concept carpe
diem? Write three paragraphs
defending your claim using
citation and sources.
Present: At the conclusion of
reading Death of a Salesman,
find a partner and film a short
scene between two different
characters using an array of
props, costumes. Upload on
Youtube. Separately, examine
the motivation, or tactic of each
character in a double spaced
one-page paper with the link to
your video.
