Weekly Report 7: 9/30 to 10/6

Through Business Symposium, I have greatly expanded my
network in LinkedIn. Because of this, my future prospects for
finding contacts should go a lot more smoothly. Many of the
other students I had met had similar aspirations as I have,
and they all were very willing to interact over the Internet to
assist me. This will assist greatly on top of Google searching.
On top of that, practicing talking to professionals has greatly
increased my confidence, so hopefully I can schedule
interviews more easily. One of the professionals I met was a
data scientist, so if I want to start looking for people who are
in machine learning, I can start with him. This is very
reassuring because there are not that many people who are
specialized in machine learning and data science.

Writing handwritten thank you letters seems very

overachieving, but I greatly understand. Unexpected acts of
gratitude are some of the greatest feelings I have ever
experienced. However, my control of tone has much left to
be desired, so there is a long road ahead of improving my
writing. Therefore, I need to both improve my writing and my
speaking in the near future. There is just no avoiding the
skills that will be important in my career with ISM.
