Conditions for participation in the Avira Christmas Challenge

Procedure
The duration of the Avira Operations GmbH & Co. KG ("Organizer") Christmas
Challenge lasts from 03.12.2017 to 23.12.2017, finishing at 23:59. During this period,
online users will have the opportunity to participate in the challenge by completing
certain tasks.

Participation
Participation in the competition is free. There are three tasks that each participant can
solve. The period in which a single task can be solved is announced on the website of
the organizer. For each successfully completed task, the participant receives a 3-month
license for an Avira product. Registration is required in order to use the license.
For the first task, the participant must download Avira Software Updater from
https://www.avira.com/en/avira-software-updater and perform a scan. Then a banner
will appear, which the participant must click on.
For the second task, the participant must download Avira Free System Speedup from
https://www.avira.com/en/avira-system-speedup-free and perform a scan. Then a
banner will appear, which the participant must click on.
For the third task, the participant must find "Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer" on
https://www.avira.com/en/avira-phantom-vpn and click on him. This is only possible if
the page is viewed with a VPN whose virtual website address is in US/ Mexico. If
necessary, the participant must first empty the browser’s cache.
Participation is only possible within the specified participation period. A decisive criterion
for participation is the time (CET) at which the participant carried out the activity. Only
one submitted email address will be considered for each participant. It is forbidden to
use multiple email addresses.

Eligibility
The participant must be at least 18 years old to be eligible for participating in the
competition. Participation is not limited to customers of the organizer and does not
depend on the purchase of a good or service. All people involved in the conception and
implementation of the competition, as well as their family members, are not eligible to
participate in the competition. In addition, the organizer reserves the right, at its
discretion, to exclude persons from participation provided a justification exists, for
example:
(a) in the case of manipulation in connection with access to or the performance of the
Sweepstakes, (b) in the event of a breach of these Terms of Participation, (c) in the event
of unfairness, or (d) in the case of false or misleading claims in connection with the
participation in the Sweepstakes.

Claiming, winning, notifying, and receiving the reward

Each participant who successfully completes the task(s) receives:
• in the first round, a 3-month license for Avira Software Updater Pro
• in the second round, a 3-month license for Avira System Speedup Pro
• for the third task: a 3-month license for Avira Phantom VPN Pro

Contest
The following prizes will also be raffled to participants from the following countries:
Germany, Switzerland, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, or Great Britain

• First round: 10 annual licenses for Avira Software Updater Pro

• Second round: 10 annual licenses for Avira System Speedup Pro
• Third round: 10 annual licenses for Avira Phantom VPN Pro

By participating in the competition, eligible candidates automatically participate in the

raffle of the above-mentioned annual licenses.
If the participant successfully completes the tasks in all three rounds, the participant
automatically takes part in the raffle for an iPhone X smartphone on 24.12.2017.
Due to legal reasons, only participants residing in Germany, Switzerland, Finland,
Norway, Sweden, Denmark, or Great Britain are eligible for the raffle for the annual
licenses and the iPhone X.
Winners of the annual licenses and the iPhone X will be selected during the participation
period by means of a random raffle among all eligible participants from the above-
mentioned countries.
Winners will be notified by 31.12.2017 via a separate email. The delivery of the prize will
be made exclusively to the winner. An exchange, a pickup, and a cash payment of the
profit is not permitted.
Any costs incurred for the delivery of the profits shall be borne by the organizer. Any
additional costs associated with making use of the prize shall be borne by the winner. The
winner is responsible for a possible taxation of the profit.
If the winner does not respond within two weeks after a two-time request, the prize can
be transferred to another participant.
Termination of the raffle
The organizer expressly reserves the right to terminate the claim without prior notice and
without giving reasons. This applies in particular to any reason that would disrupt or
prevent a scheduled expiration of the claim.

Data protection
For participation in the competition and, if applicable, the subsequent raffle, the following
personal data of the participant is required: email address and country of residence.
The data will be used by the organizer exclusively in connection with the implementation
of the Avira Christmas Challenge. The participant assures that the personal information
provided by him or her, in particular his or her first name, surname and email address,
are true and correct.
The organizer points out that all personal data of the participant will not be passed on to
third parties without his or her consent, nor will they be used without his or her consent.
In the case of a reward or a prize, the winner agrees to the publication of his or her name
and place of residence in the advertising media used by the organizer. This includes the
announcement of the winner on the website, blog, and social media platforms of the
organizer.
The participant can revoke his or her declared consent at any time. The revocation must
be addressed in writing to the organizer. After revoking the consent, the collected and
stored personal data of the participant will be deleted immediately.

Applicable law
Questions or complaints should be directed to the organizer.
The competition and raffle of the organizer is exclusively subject to the law of the Federal
Republic of Germany. The legal process is excluded.

Severability clause
Should a provision of these conditions of participation be or become wholly or partially
ineffective, the validity of these conditions of participation will not be affected. Instead of
the ineffective provision, the legally permissible provision which most closely
approximates the meaning and purpose expressed in the invalid provision shall apply.
The same applies in the event of the existence of a loophole in these conditions of
participation.
