General
Information
The HPO43 probe uses the high performance,
high quality ROTRONIC HYGROMER™ C94
capacitive sensor to measure relative humidity
and a precision Pt100 RTD to measure the
temperature. The probe provides 2 linear voltage
output signals.
The humidity range of the HPO43 is 0-
100%RH with an accuracy of ±3% RH over a
range of -20 to +60C. Temperature output
corresponds to -40 to +60C. The probe will
survive exposure to temperatures -40 to +70C.
The HPO43 is temperature compensated.
The HPO43 requires 5-28vdc and draws
about 3.5mA. When operating at 5v this
requires a regulated power supply, otherwise
the probe can be operated with unregulated
power sources. The “OFF-ON” time for
electronic stabilization is <0.5 seconds, so for
data logger applications the HPO43 can be in
the off mode until interrogated.
The HYGROMER sensor of the HPO43 is the
same sensor used for industrial processes
where high reliability and performance is
needed. With a stability of better than
1%RH/year the HPO43 will not require
frequent calibration or maintenance. For these
reasons the HPO43 is well suited for coastal
sites, for agricultural monitoring networks,
chemical sites or environments where there is
pollution.
All HPO43 probes can be calibrated by the
user to eliminate the need for returning units
to the factory. When ROTRONIC humidity
standards are used to calibrate there is
traceability to certification of accuracy.
The ROTRONIC 3-year warranty covers both
the sensors and the electronics.
