Dear Ms. Lee,

With the utmost enthusiasm, I would like to express my interest in the English Teacher position at Shanghai
Language Center. My interest in teaching English as a second language has taken me from volunteering as a teach-
er in Chile with the Chile Volunteer Corps Project Ayudar to completing my TESOL certification to improve my
teaching abilities. I believe that my passion for language, strong commitment to young learners, and interest in
the Chinese language make me an ideal candidate to join the teaching staff at Shanghai Learning Center.

As a candidate, here’s what I could immediately bring to the table:

An effective grasp of the English Language at a native level: In my role at Chile Volunteer Corps, I helped my
students achieve C2 fluency, as well as assisting learners with no knowledge of English raise their skills to an
extraordinary degree. I was also able to showcase my teaching and leadership abilities as a team leader in Project
Ayudar by leading a team of 12 teachers, in English and Spanish, and helping over 150 children improve their
speaking, listening, and writing skills.

A disciplined employee: I have always displayed my careful approach to preparation by creating detailed lesson
plans. At The Teaching Company, I frequently assisted other teachers with their preparation. In addition, I had
the opportunity to learn basic Mandarin, which further shows my dedication to teaching in China.

A passionate student of language: Everything I have engaged in so far has all been driven by my keen interest
in language learning and teaching. Even as a student, I made sure to dedicate some part of my day to teaching
others, through tutoring fellow students and volunteering for Big Brothers Big Sisters. It is this passion that has
driven every one of my career decisions thus far.

I look forward to contributing my skills and experiences to the English Teacher position at Shanghai Language
Center and hope to have the opportunity to speak with you further about how I can be an asset to your team.
