Report for Construction of H.L R.C.C bridge (5x30m Span) Replacement of existing damaged
Bridge at Ch. 34.800 and HL RCC Bridge 2x30m span for extension of Existing Bridge at Ch.
92.850 in NH 327E in the state of Bihar for the year 2019-2020.

Corridor: Two Bridge

Tentative length = Bridge 150m (5x30m span) and Bridge 60m (2x30m span).

To assess the condition of the roads and structures and the type of terrain and constraints in
these corridors, our highway engineer and bridge engineer have visited the sites and taken
photographs of important roads/structures all along the project road. The appreciations of the
sites are described below.

There are 2 major bridges with varying width which is less 16m as required for 2 lane
configurations, So new bridge may be required at this location as per 2lane / 4lane
configuration.
Total Bridge length 150m (5x30m span) and 60m (2x30m span), One bridge is damaged and
other bridge is to be extended as per TOR. It is densely populated along the project. Temporary
Encroachment is there all along the project.

The existing road width is around 15m with black top from Anishabad to Phulwari Sharif and
rigid pavement in the remaining portion upto AIIMS. The condition of the roads is good except
a few localized area. Most part of the road stretch passes through very densely settlement
areas. There are some curves along the stretch. Suitable type of superstructure may be
required in the curved areas. The area consists of plain terrain with some minor and major
bends. Due to narrow widths in settlement areas, it may require demolitions of temporary or
permanent structures at certain location. At few locations, religious structures are present
along the project road and care has to be taken during planning of alignment so that these
religious structures are avoided. LA may be required at certain locations where is not feasible to
construct the elevated structure/service road within the existing ROW. Tree cutting will be
required along the project road for construction of elevated structure/service road.

There are few road junctions along the project corridor which are not as per MORT&H
specifications. So, the junctions may be suitably improved as per design requirement. The
substandard curves may also be improved as per IRC guidelines for plain terrain. Apart from the
elevated corridor all along the project road, ascending and descending ramps may be required
at intermediate locations for providing access to and from the existing roads.

The photographs of the project road, important road junctions and Structures along the project
corridor have been presents below.
