IN THE 21ST CENTURY

INFORMATIVE ESSAY

I have learned that success is to be measured not so much by the

position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which he
has succeeded while trying to succeed.

-BOOKER T. WASHINGTON-
IN THE 21ST
CENTURY
PATHWAYS TO SUCCESS
“Success comes to those who
wait but better things come to those
who stand and do anything for it to
happen”. –Anonymous-

Reading yields the best results.

What is behind every successful man in the 21st century?

A question finds its way in the corridors of thought. As I pondered

deeply and sought for the answer, I happened to catch a glimpse of the
changes in our society. Innovations and trends tend to shape humanity. A
daylight had sprung in the presence of technology, but instead of being
surprised by the different modifications, mankind had greatly embraced its
diverse effects, it seems like we are no stranger to all the variations encircling
our world. Why is that so? Perhaps, it is because, we already developed all
the vital ingredients to adapt to the changes and to be competitive.

In the dawn of the 21st century, communication had indeed became one
of the primary skills to attain globalization, but given the different races,
nations and people surrounding our world, we need a language that could
bridge the gap of racism. That is why we have come to develop and
disseminate the concept of the “universal language”. English is the language
of all nations, the bridge to all races, and the pillars to a brighter world. We
can be competitive enough if we are English proficient. The changing world
demands people who are equipped and flexible enough to boldly face all the
obstacles and trials in our modern day.

Now the question relies mainly on the concept of success in the 21st
century and the statements above portrayed the essence of English, how did
it become relevant?

Simple. Teamwork makes the dream work. We cannot achieve success

when we fail to incorporate the concept of solidarity and unity in it. English
connects us; this language is the very soul of unity and success in the 21st
century but how can we become English proficient individuals?

The answer stood amidst the simplest range of idea. Yes! It is reading.
Reading is very beneficial in yearning ideas and opinions. By reading we may
learn, and by learning we could live. Some people would underestimate the
power of reading, but, in reality, reading is the simplest but the most effective
way to yield knowledge. Knowledge that are vital to be English proficient and
proficiency that is essential for success. Clear, solid, and serene, the best
work still seems. It is as if there is a communion taking place among the
fingers turning the page, the eyes taking in the words and the brain
imaginatively recreating what the words stands for, and as Hemingway puts
it— making it part of your existence. English proficiency and reading are in
some ways inseparable. The small deeds are the main ingredient for the great
deeds. All the persons who became successful had the courage to learn the
importance of knowledge in the 21stcentury. And as what Benjamin franklin
said “If a man purse his knowledge into his head no one can take it from him:
an investment in knowledge always pays the best interest”. That is likely the
secret of every successful man in the 21st century.”
