Denier means,
weight of 9000m of yarn = Dx1 gm

Tex means ,
weight of 1000m of yarn = Tx1 gm

Mathematically,
Wt. of 9000m yarn = 1x D gm
Wt. of 1m yarn = (1xD) / 9000gm
Wt. of 1000m yarn = (1x1000xD) / 9000 gm
= D/9

From definition we can write, T(tex)= D/9

D (denier) = 9xT (tex)
Den = 9xTex
