Statement of Commitment

As a person who will be working with children, I make a commitment to adhere to the
values that are reflected in the NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct. I will to the best of my
ability:
Neer do harm to children
Make sure that the programs for young children are based on current knowledge of
child development
Support and respect families as they raise their children. I will offer assistance if it is
needed/wanted
Support and respect my coworkers in the field of early childhood education
Be an advocate for children and families in the community
Stay up to date on my ongoing education and strive to keep learning how to be a better
teacher. I will continue to educate myself on current knowledge.
I want to continue to grow as a professional as well as a parent.

Statement of Ethics

According to the Code of Ethical Conduct, I assure that each child will receive the most
respect that an individual deserves.
I will make sure thati am kept up to date with all the knowledge in regards to children
and value each child’s culture and continue to learn more about it. I will always respect
families and the values that they have. I will work with parents to make sure that they
are included in their child’s education.

Mandated Reporter Statement

A mandated reporter is one who is required by law to report reasonable suspicions of


abuse. A child caregiver , like myself, is required to report and to be aware of all types
of abusive activity. In accordance with Michigan law we are required to report all
suspicions to Children’s Protective Services (CPS) at the Department of Human
Services (DHS).
