C.T RIGHT KNEE JOINTS (without contrast)


CLINICAL DATA: trauma
TECHNIQUE:
Axial sections of the right knee joint are taken without the administration of contrast in
bone and soft tissue window settings.
FINDINGS:
There is an avulsion of the fracture of the supero-lateral part of the patella with
the displaced bone fragment .
Gross joint effusion is seen with fluid in retro and supra patellar bursa.
The included parts of tibia, femur and fibula appear normal with no evidence of any
sclerotic or lytic lesion.
No cortical break/periosteal reaction.
Adjacent soft tissues appear normal.
No cyst seen in relation with the joint.

CONCLUSION:
Fracture of supero-lateral patella. Possibility is of avulsion fracture
of the Quadriceps tendon however MRI is advised for proper
evaluation.
