ii) Lanyard snap hooks should be connected at a level not lower than the user’s waist
iii) What is the minimum sized piping that should be used as an anchor point?
Above 3” Piping
iv) Piping should be in good condition (not corroded) and not insulated.
v) Steam line, Fire water piping, Electrical conduit, or any pipe supported by pipe hangers
suspended by threaded rod is not allowed as anchor points. Avoid (e.g. Ladder
brackets or ladder are bolted to the scaffolding, Threaded screw pipe, Bleeder valve,
Valve handle and Pad eye – Tote are unacceptable tie off points)
vi) Only slings and chokers designed by a manufacturer for use as fall protection are used
to loop around the big pipes/ beams and be suitable anchorage points. (refer attached
picture)
6) If the green tag has been removed a warning sign (Red Tag) will be displayed on the Scaffold,
this indicates the scaffold is Unsafe to Use.
7) Daily Inspect the body harness condition prior to use. (Visual check by end user) If any defects
(wear and tear) found do not use, return to store and replace.
8) Grating/ Scaffold platform to be covered with canvas sheet when opening bolts & nuts to
prevent falling objects.
9) Use Heavy Duty Canvas Tool bag or plastic containers available to store loose materials
10) Are the tools being used equipped with lanyard and tied off?
11) Materials stored at elevated areas with toe bards with green netting (Debris Safety net)
12) All materials to be stored in Platforms and Structures must display a sign filled with all the
necessary information
