Gueszeppe

Joanne Marie M. Ayton

It’s been two years since you are gone,

But I still think of you every night and day.
I can still remember your smile when I’m alone.
If only I can stop that smile from fading away.
We’ve been friends since I was four,
You understand me through rhythm and blue.
But now I can’t be with you anymore.
Because life left you at the age of twenty-two.
I can still remember the last time I saw you,
You looked at me and smiled.
But I just looked at you and went away,
I never thought that our memories will end that way.
There are so many things that I want to tell you;
Thank you for everything that you did for me.
Sorry if I’m not there when your sickness is troubling you,
Sorry Ghuesz, if I’m not there when you most needed me.
If I could turn back the time when you’re still here,
I will take care of you and show you how much I love you.
But I know that it can never happen.
Just wait, because one day I will be there with you.
