EL3000 SERIES

 MODBUS CONFIGURATION

1. Requirement

 Ethernet cross cable


 PC/Laptop to be connected, directly, to the Analyzer
 Software ECT (by ABB)

6) Ethernet-10/100BASE-T interface (for configuration and software update and for Modbus TCP communication*)

2. Key Functions in Measuring Mode

◄► Switch over the display of each individual measured value; in addition to the digital
display, an analog bar with information on the range limits is shown in this display.

▼▲ Reduce or increase the contrast of the display.


When a status message is active, press key ▼ first.

OK Switch to menu mode.

▼ If a status message is active: press the key to display the message list.

3. Analyzer IP address

a. Press the OK key

b. Menu path:
 ► Setup - ▼ Device Settings - ▼ Ethernet

c. Note down the actual IP address (you need that to configure the ECT software).

4. Modbus configuration

Prerequisites: The ECT software tool ("configurator") has been installed on the computer.

a. Open the ECT software tool.


b. Click the command "Communication Properties…" in the "Options" menu.

Communication with the Analyzer is started.

c. Enter the IP address of the Analyzer in the "Communication Properties" dialog.

d. Close the dialog by clicking "OK".


e. Click the command "Receive Data" in the "File" menu.

The configuration data is transferred from the Analyzer to the computer.
