Quick Start Guide


This guide will help you install IBM Tivoli Directory Server.

National Language Version: To obtain the Quick Start Guide in another language, find the file for your language in the quickstart
directory. (The files are named tds62_qsg_LL.idd and tds62_qsg_LL.htm, where LL is an abbreviation for the language.)

IBM Tivoli Directory Server Product Overview


IBM Tivoli Directory Server is the IBM implementation of the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) for supported
Windows, AIX, Linux, Solaris, and HP-UX operating systems. IBM Tivoli Directory Server provides a server that stores directory
information using a DB2 database, a proxy server for routing LDAP operations to other servers, a client, a graphical user
interface (GUI) for managing servers, and a GUI for managing users.

Install IBM Tivoli Directory Server using the Typical or Custom installation path.
v Typical installation installs all features.
v Custom installation allows you to select features to install.
You can install all of the prerequisite products with the directory server.
