NOTE: Throughout this installation

• Before starting this installation make sure that the Vehicle is on a flat surface. Failing to
do so could result in damages to the vehicle, to you, and/or others.

• Take care of all disassembled vehicle components as they will be reinstalled ( ) into
the vehicle, unless noted ( ) and instructed differently. Use blankets, tape, and other
protective items to avoid scratching components that may/will come in contact with
tools or sharp surfaces.

• After or during installation trim ( ) excess from the Cable Ties.

I. Pre-Install
1. Affix the Installation Spacer [13]
to the Audio Unit [1] as shown.
-- Apply pressure across the entire part to
seat the adhesive.
CAUTION: Do not touch the surface
of the radio where the Spacer will be
adhered.
CAUTION: Align the edge of the
Spacer with the seam in the Audio
Unit.

2. Cut the Foam Tape [16] provided


in the kit as shown.

II. Disassembly
1. Place the Vehicle into Park “P”
with the Parking Brake set.

2. Disconnect the Negative Battery


Terminal.
-- Note the battery cable position as it will
be reinstalled in the same position.

CAUTION: Do not touch the Positive


Battery Terminal.

3. Remove the Radio Trim.


-- Using the Nylon Pry Tool start by
releasing the bottom clips (1) and (2)

CAUTION: Avoid scratching the trim


and dash panel.

4. Remove 4 Screws.

5. Remove the Radio Cover Plate


and Pocket.

6. Dislodge the Emergency Brake


Trim.
-- Start by dislodging the front bottom clip
(1).

7. Open the Console.

8. Remove any trays.

9. Remove the Rubber Mat


(if equipped).

10. Remove 2 Screws.

11. Remove 1 Screw.

12. Dislodge the Center Console and


tilt back.

13. Disconnect the Connectors from


the bottom of the Console.

14. Disconnect the Harness Clamp.

15. Loosen the Harness Clips and


dislodge the Vehicle Harness
from the bottom of the Console.

16. Disconnect the remaining


Connectors.

17. Remove the Center Console.

CAUTION: Avoid scratching the


Console or Vehicle upon removal.

18. Remove the Vehicle’s


AUX ONLY Module.
-- Using the Nylon Panel Removal Tool,
dislodge the AUX Module’s 4 clips from
the bottom of the Center Console.
-- Discard the Vehicle’s AUX Module.

CAUTION: Avoid scratching the


Center Console.

19. Using the 1 1/4” (31.7mm) punch


OR hole saw make a hole in the
Center Console as shown.

20. Return the Center Console to


the Vehicle leaving it in the tilted
position.

21. Remove the Insert covering the


Shift Over Ride Button.

CAUTION: Make sure the Vehicle’s


Parking Brake is set.

22. Depress the Shift Override


Button and move the Shifter
to “D.”

23. Remove the Gear Shift Trim


-- Lift to release the rear clips, then pull
rearwards to release.

24. Place the Vehicle back into “P.”

25. Remove the Instrument Panel


Trim.

NOTE: The Instrument Panel Trim is


in 2 parts. Grip both pieces and
pull from the bottom to avoid
separating the parts.

CAUTION: Avoid scratching the


Instrument Trim or Panel.

26. Remove 2 Screws from the


Instrument Panel.

27. Disconnect Instrument Panel


connector from back side and
remove Instrument Panel from
the vehicle starting from the top.

28. Remove any clips that do not


come off during the Instrument
Panel Trim removal in fig. 2-16.

29. Re-attach them to the Instrument


Panel Trim.

III. GPS Antenna Installation.


1. Route the GPS Antenna Harness
[9] from the Instrument Panel
Area to the Radio Area.

2. Install the GPS Antenna [9] and


Bracket using the GPS Antenna
Screw. [10]

T -- Torque the Screw to 13.2 in•lbf


(1.49 N•m)

3. Secure GPS Antenna Harness


[9] to the Vehicle by inserting the
Harness Clip into the Hole in
the Vehicle from the back side.

VERIFY: That the clip is properly


seated and secure.

IV. Center Console


1. Connect the PND’s Secondary
Harness [6] to the Vehicle’s 24
Pin Connector (A: i50).

2. Route the USB Connector and


iPod Harness Connector on the
Secondary Harness [6] downward
through the center console.

3. Align the Secondary Harness


[6] Connectors as shown, and
secure the 24Pin connectors
to the Vehicle Harness with 1
Cable Tie [11].

4. Locate the Vehicle’s 8 Pin


Rearview Camera Connector
(i146).

5. Connect the Secondary


Harness’s [6] 8 Pin Connector to
the Vehicle’s Rearview Camera
Connector.

6. Route the USB Connector and iPod Harness


Connector on the Secondary Harness [6]
as shown.

7. Secure the Secondary Harness [6] to the


Vehicle Harness near the Vehicle Harness
Clamp with 1 Cable Tie [11].

shown.

9. Secure them to the Vehicle


Harness using 1 Cable Ties [11].

10. Apply the 2.5” x 3” (6.35cm x


7.62cm) piece of Foam Tape [16]
to the Vehicle’s Bolt.

11. Connect the iPod Harness [8] to


iPod Harness Connector on the
Secondary Harness [6].

nectors [6,8] and the Secondary
Harness [6] to the Vehicle using
1 Cable Tie [11].

to the Harnesses as shown.

16. Continue Routing the Harnesses


[6, 8] as shown securing them to
the Vehicle Harness with 2 Cable
Ties [11].

17. Secure the Harnesses [6 ,8] to


the Vehicle Harness near the
Vehicle Harness Clip with
1 Cable Tie [11].

18. Route the USB Connector on


the Secondary Harness [6] and
the Vehicle’s AUX Connector
through the console opening and
connect them to the USB/AUX
Module [21].

19. Route the iPod Harness [8]


though the Hole in the Center
Console.

20. Using the Photo as reference


make sure the iPod Harness
length is as shown.

VERIFY: That 15” (38.1cm) or more


of iPod Harness are exposed,
if not check that the harness is
routed properly and without slack.

4-16.

21. Secure the Secondary Harness


[6] and the iPod Harness [8]
to the Vehicle Harness with
1 Cable Tie [11].

NOTE: Applying the cable tie closer


or farther to the USB/AUXModule
will adjust how much of the iPod
Harness [8] is accessible.

4-17.

22. Install the USB/AUX Module [21]


and the Grommet [12] into the
Center Console.

VERIFY: That the Grommet [12] and


the USB/AUX [21] module seats
properly.

V. PND Installation &


Vehicle Re-assembly.
1. Remove 2 Screws and the
Bracket from the Radio Cover
Plate and Pocket.
-- Repeat with the other side.
-- Do not discard the Brackets.
-- Discard the Radio Cover Plate, Pocket,
and the 4 Screws.

2. Remove 2 Bolts and the Shipping


Brackets from the Audio Unit [1].
-- Repeat with the other side.
-- Discard the Brackets.
-- Do not Discard the 4 Bolts.

5-3.

3. Attach the Brackets from the


Radio Cover Plate to the Head
Unit [1] using 8 bolts [14].
-- Place the Bracket stamped “R” on the
side of the Radio stamped “R.”
-- Place the Bracket stamped “L” on the
side of the Radio stamped “L.”
-- 4 Bolts from the PND Kit, and 4 Bolts
from the Audio Unit’s shipping brackets.
T -- Torque the Bolts to 23.0 ± 5.3 lbf•in
(2.6 ± 0.6 N•m)

4. Locate the Vehicle’s 2 Pin Radio


Antenna Connector.

5. Connect the Audio Unit’s Radio


Antenna Adapter [7] to the
Vehicle’s 2 Pin Radio Antenna
Connector.

6. Connect the Audio Unit’s Main


Harness [5] to the Vehicle’s 14
Pin Connector (D: i87).

7. Locate the 5 Pin Vehicle


Microphone Connector (i147)
(if equipped).

8. Secure the Connector to the


Vehicle Harness with the 2” x 3”
(5.08cm x 7.62cm) piece of Foam
Tape [16].

9. Connect the Main Harness [5],


the Secondary Harness’s [6] 3
connectors, the Radio Antenna
Adapter [7], and the GPS Anten-
na [9] to the Audio Unit [1].

10. Install the Audio Unit [1].


-- Use the 4 screws from the Radio Cover
Plate & Pocket.

11. Reassemble the Vehicle.

VERIFY: That all the components fit


together evenly with no uneven
gaps.

12. Reconnect the Vehicle’s Negative


Battery Terminal to its original
position.

CAUTION: Do not touch the Positive


Batter Terminal.

Accessory Function Checks
Item Description

□ AM/FM
Check Radio Reception.
VERIFY: That radio receives both AM/FM stations clearly.

□ Steering remote (if equipped)


Check steering remote.
VERIFY: Volume Adjusts +/-, Station Seeks +/-, MODE, MUTE.

□ Rearview Camera
Shift Vehicle to reverse (R) position.
VERIFY: That the Rearview Camera image is displayed.

□ Illumination Dimming
Adjust Vehicle’s Illumination dimmer switch.
VERIFY: That the PND Navigation Unit dims accordingly.

□ GPS signal
View Map Screen.

Press the area highlighted in red.

Press the area highlighted in red.

VERIFY: That Global Positioning Satellites are being detected.


NOTE: When GPS signal is not received in the installation area,
move the vehicle to a place where GPS signal is receivable.

□ USB
Connect USB memory Device and play audio.
VERIFY: That music plays from the Memory Device.

□ AUX
Connect an MP3 player to the auxiliary port.
VERIFY: That music plays from the MP3 Player.


Connect an iPod to the iPod docking Cable.
iPod/Video VERIFY: w/Parking Brake ON Video Plays,
VERIFY: w/Parking Brake OFF Screen Turns Blue, Audio still plays.
