Details of Publications / Paper Presentations / Important Project (If any):
1)Submission of a study titled “Usage of Ciprofloxacin in Pediatrics in 1993 {in view of DCGI’s ban on the usage of
CIPROFLOXACIN ORAL SUSPENSION following US FDA} in children in typhoid and paratyphoid infection as well as in drug
resistant diarrhea ” to ICMR, DELHI wherein the subject was referred for review. The ban on the same was revoked and the said
formulation has been a boon to address the child mortality in the country ever since in the wake of higher incidence of given
etiologies in children in India. Subsequently the usage was also allowed by US FDA but India has been the first country to allow
the usage of fluoroquinolones. At the time of launch by innovator M/s Bayer in USA, due to the similarity in the structure of
Nalidixic acid and fluoroquinolones and the former’s role in causing arthropathy in adolescents, the Ciprofloxacin was approved
with the warning “Restricted for use in Adolescents”.
2)Study on the actual costing of the drug formulations vs Procurement Price and corresponding MRPs in Jan Aushadhi Scheme
presented to the Secretary, Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of C & F, GOI in 2010

indications for the first time in the world in 1993 and submission of skin permeability studies data establishing in situ
concentration being higher than the MICs of the skin pathogens
5)Formulation Development of Novel p H balanced and normal flora restorative Antivagintis formulation for Vaginitis of varied
etiology (Infa V) widely covered in peer reviewed journals in India

the betalactum block and purchasing and installation of high speed automatic capsule filling machine AF40, streamlining the
production processes by capacity synchronization, strengthening the in house quality control laboratory thus reducing the lag
time lost in waiting for the outside report, cost reduction through direct sourcing, better negotiations, availing modvat credit
and hence reducing the PLA outgo, quality up gradation. Inclusion of difficult formulations in the basket (being outsourced
henceforth), labor management, speedy and transparent
addressal of pending legal cases, CAG audits and so on and so forth.
8) The promotion of Spices was done in an innovative and creative manner bringing forth various outcomes viz spread of
