SCIENCE MONTH
Proposed Activities
As September is fast-approaching, the Science Club would like to propose the following activities for
Science Month. These activities aim to inspire and to widen the perspective of the students of Angilan
National High School to think of Science as more than a subject, more than just academics. Instead it is a
discipline which presents a lot of opportunities to show their talents in the different intelligences.

 September 10, 2019 Tuesday


Opening of Science Month
Introduction of the theme
Announcing of the schedule of activities
Giving of trivia
- During the flag raising ceremony, the Science teachers, together with the Science Club Officers will
officially open the Science Month by enunciating the theme for this year’s celebration.
- The schedule of activities will be announced to serve as guide all throughout the month.
- As part of our role to impart knowledge about Science and Technology, the Science Club will
conduct a Daily Trivia (Now you Know!) which will be said every flag raising ceremony.

Poster and Slogan Making Contest
Spoken Poetry for Inang Kalikasan
T.A.G.H.A.P (Throw A Garbage, Have A Prize)
- These will act as an environmental campaign which will nurture the students love for nature, to be
responsible and raise awareness as to what is happening in our environment.

 September 16, 2019 Monday


Science Writing Contest
- This activity will foster the students’ curiosity and enlightened the minds of prospect writers. We
will have a chance to measure the students’ knowledge on current issues related to Science and
Technology.

 September 20. 2019 Friday


SYMBO (Bingo with a Twist)
- The Science Club Officers will be tasked to sell the Symbo cards which will cost 10php each. This
will show the students that learning Science can also be fun.

Science Trail
- To develop the skills and confidence of students in exhibiting their abilities and talent in Science
related activities.
- TRASHION
Students will design a dress made up of recyclable materials which will be worn by a model and
will be presented during the culmination day. Each designer will have to design according to the
given elements which are water, earth, fire, air, lightning and metal.

- DANCE MATTER
This will be the intermission number for Trashion. The Angilan NHS performing arts will be
assigned to create a choreography which will represent the three states of matter, Solid, Liquid and
Gas.

- SCIENCE TRAIL
Encourages students who are kinesthetically intelligent to participate in Science related
activities. Students will be grouped accordingly and will have to overcome obstacles with physical
or mental means.

 September 29, 2018 Saturday (Simultaneous with Monthly Tree-Growing Activity)


Team Up to Clean Up/ Let’s Clean to Go Green
Run for Kalikasan
- The clean-up drive will be spearheaded by the Angilan NHS faculty and Staff and will cover the
circumference of the school premises.
- The students will be emboldened to join our Fun Run from Baranggay Tampaan to Angilan NHS
Grounds. They will be asked to pay 50php registration fee which will give them freebies such as
free water and a soup for breakfast.

 Every day after flag ceremony (5 minutes only)


Drop Everything and Clean
- In line with Angilan National High School’s motto, “I am an Angilan NHS student, DISIPLINADO
AKO!”,the students of Angilan NHS will be asked to drop everything (to stop whatever they are
doing at the moment) within 5 minutes and be part of the unified cleaning time of the school. This
will promote and foster the students’ sense of responsibility and discipline in keeping the school
clean.
